Chapter 20: Our First Group! [REWRITTEN]

"Welcome to your new safe haven!" Was all Lucine said with wide arms and a grin.

Dumbfounded faces was met as her response by the children in front of her.

In the distance, five adult figures were seen watching.

"Oh my god..." Grace muttered under her breath in disappointment, pinching the bridge of her nose.

"She doesn't know how to talk to kids does she?" Daniel deadpanned.

"I... Don't think so..." Joshua replied unsurely as he furrowed his brows.

"As long as they don't easily break, I don't really care." Carlos yawned out.

"We should help her." Janesa decides.

"Nah/okay."

Now, you might be very confused as to what is happening. Well, let me give you a little flashback as to how these children came to exist.

"Y-you want to o-order some meat?" The nervous and scared demon questioned.

It wasn't everyday you have the daughter of an all powerful god come to Gracefield to just buy meat.

"Yes." Lucine replied simply.

"U-um, o-okay. P-please follow me." The demon gestured to a hallway.

They walked their way into an office with an old lady in a desk in the middle of it.

"Grandma, L-lord Odessa has come here to order some meat." The demon informed.

"Huh?" The old lady looked up and her grey eyes widen in surprise at the sight of the female bluenette.

"Lord Odessa! What a pleasant surprise to see you here! Please, come in!" She prompted as she pulled a chair out parallel to her desk.

Lucine only hummed as she walked her way to the chair. Grandma waved her hand dismissively at the demon, to which the demon happily left swiftly.

"What is it you need to have come all this way?" The old woman asked.

"I just got hungry, I want some of your best meat." The goddess demanded.

"Of course! Anything you want!" She smiled, she took a folder from one of her drawers and placed it in front of the female bluenette.

"Pick anyone you want." She said.

Lucine hummed indifferently as she picked the folder up and read them. She flipped the pages slowly as her eyes scanned each one, picking only a few that perked her interest. When she finished, there were only five that were chosen.

"These are what I want." Lucine finalized.

Grandma read the five chosen files, some surprised her, some made sense. Though she was curious as to why the goddess chose them, she didn't want to have her head in a silver plate. Everybody knew to never question the Odessa family's intentions, no matter how suspicious, or else you will never be seen again.

"When can I get them all?" Lucine asked.

"Well, some of them haven't even reached the required age..." Grandma muttered, until she realized who she's talking to.

They could always breed more. And it won't be too suspicious for the children to notice if she makes some preparations.

"Actually, they will all be ready by the end of the week." She assured.
