[•Peter's POV•]
No...

No no no no no...

NO!!!

PLEASE DON'T!

"Nii-san! Please rethink this! The cattle children are necessary to be used as sacrifices! You can't just save them because of their ancestors! They were wrong! They didn't listen to our ancestor and that's where they ended up! Please don't do this! You'll get in trouble!" I exclaimed frantically as I tugged my older brother's sleeve aggressively.

"Peter, don't you understand?! Our ancestor was a traitor! There were other ways to make peace but he chose the wrong one!" He tried to reason.

"He didn't! There wasn't another way! Those man-eaters could've caused the extinction of humans if we hadn't done anything! Or worse! We all could've became the cattle!" I retorted.

"UGH! Peter, if you don't like what I'm doing then don't follow me! JUST GET OUT AND DON'T BOTHER ME!" He exasperated a yell.

I stared at him wide eyed, feeling tears well up in them.

Why was nii-san like this? Why did he have to change because of those scrolls he found? If he hadn't... We wouldn't be arguing like this.

Big brother seemed to have realized what he had said and his eyes widen in fear.

"P-peter I... I-im sorry I didn't m-mean..." He tried to apologize but I could already feel the tears trickle down my cheeks.

Without realizing it, I ran away from his office and went wherever my feet brought me to. Ignoring my brother's calls for me.

[•Lunate's POV•]
I was just minding business, taking care of some police cases about the murder of the past heads if the clan.

Something really isn't right here.

There seems to be a pattern here I can't find. But what?

I was cut of my thoughts by the loud bangs of my door, meaning, someone came in without permission.

Who the hell has a death wish?

I stood up from my seat and walked towards the presence of the other.

Peter?

I saw the little long haired biy curled up in the corner, crying his eyes out, his sobs echoing in my quiet office.

"Hey... Peter? You okay?" I asked softly but with some caution as I walked over to him.

He must've tried to talk James out of it.

The boy didn't seem to hear me as he continued to sob, his arms hugging his legs close to his chest.

He's so small... Acting his age... How did this boy become such a bad person?

I cautiously tapped his shoulder, which seemed to work as he flinched and slowly looked up at me. His blue eyes shining with sadness and... Fear?

"Hey buddy... You alright? Why are you crying?" I tried not to sound so pushy, closing the distance between us.

I really don't understand how emotions work or how to help someone feel better. So don't judge me if I do some stupid things.

"N-nii-s-san... H-he won't stop what he's d-doing... He'll get i-in trouble." The little boy choked out.
