[•3rd POV•]
The heavy rain poured down as mist filled the cemetery, ambience of sadness and grief everywhere. Sounds of sobs and wails echoed throughout the almost empty cemetery. The silhouettes of a man and child holding an umbrella to cover them is shown standing there completely still, still not believing the event that occured, they couldn't even remember when they got there. It was all so blurry.
There, near a tree not so far from the father-son duo, stood two tall figures. A female and male, with a baby in the woman's arms.
"I wish I could have done something." Lunate thought aloud.
"It wasn't your fault, Lunate." Lucine reassured.
"But I'm a God who holds the power over life itself! For me to let this happen was totally my fault!" He exclaimed but his tone low as to not wake the child on his sister's arms.
"You had other business to attend to, you can't always watch over everyone you know." The woman remarked as she cradled the child in her arms.
"*Sigh* I know... I just- I wished I could have done SOMETHING." The man leaned his back on the tree with his hands in his pocket, his head downcast.
"There's no point in worrying about the what if's, Lunate. We can only move on and do our best."
"Uwahhh..." The baby cooed in Lucine's arms.
"So innocent and adorable." She spoke fondly with a smile, caressing the baby's cheek.
"But dangerous." She added as her smile easily disappeared as if it wasn't there in the first place.
How ironic that the child was the cause of his mother's death. As if he was meant to destroy everything good he gets his hands on.
How sad and inconvenient.
-----
"Boooowaaaa!" The baby chirped as he chewed on a lego block while trying to give his older brother another for him.
"Thank you, Peter." James appreciated as he took the lego piece, his smile showed warmth while his eyes were tired and sad.
"Uwaaa!" Peter started playing with the legos on his little playground in his room.
It has been 6 months since Valerie's death, and the Ratri family have yet to move on from the unfortunate event. Elliot has been out on business trips for long periods of time, while his oldest son took care of the affairs in the clan with the help of Master Odessa.
The poor 11 year old child had so much on his shoulders for taking of just the clan, that he had imagined how much harder and extreme work would be once he's the head.
Yes, it was a bit easy with Master Odessa around, easier if Lord Odessa was there too. But both had their own responsibilities and he didn't want to trouble them his problems. So he usually does his work alone, while also taking care of his little brother.
James didn't blame Peter for killing their mother, the young boy didn't mean to, nor could he have stopped something he couldn't control.
It was just what fate had written for them.
"Peter, no, don't swallow that." James chided as he took away the lego block the boy was trying to eat.
"MO!" The baby cried as he reached for the block.
