[•3rd POV•]
"I now proclaim you as the 35th head of the Ratri Clan!" Lunate announced as the now 18 year old James stood in front of him with confidence and determination.

The world leaders clapped their hands in cheer of the new head of the clan. Ever since the death of the 34th, they have been anxious and afraid that the whole family would be assassinated, then promise would be broken, and war will break out once again between the man-eaters and humans.

So far, with the protection of the guardian of the human world by the new head's side and the best trusted men as his bodyguards, there have been no attempted assassinations, thankfully.

But you can never be too careful.

"Congratulations, nii-san!" Peter exclaimed full of joy, a giant grin was placed on his face as he hugged his brother tightly on the waist.

"Thank you very much, Peter." James patted his head with a warm smile.

"I look forward to what you will do with the clan." Lucine came from behind them, shaking James' hand.

"You've come a long way." She added with a proud smirk.

"Thank you, Lord Odessa. And I guess I'll be continuing what Father left off, I want to make him proud." James smiled sadly at his own words.

"He is. Trust me. I went all the way to the afterlife specifically to ask him that." Lunate grinned.

"Seriously?"

"Yup!"

"That's great to hear."

"Oh! Nii-san, doesn't that mean you can now access the deepest part of the archives?" Peter interjected with curiosity.

"Hm? Yes, I suppose so." James mused.

"Oh oh oh! I want to see the artifacts that are in there! We should go check it out!" The long haired boy prompted, shaking his brother's arms playfully.

"Alright alright, but let's do that when I'm done organizing my new office, okay?"

"Okay!"

Lucine smiled at the two while Lunate chuckled. Though they know this brotherly relationship will soon fall, it was nice to see them acting like their age for once. They're fond memories to cherish and look back on whenever, no matter the present.

Oh, how they were in for a surprise.

For all things come with consequences, and their existence will have many.

[•Lucine's POV•]
"When do you think he'll find out?" Lunate asked as we hang in his office, I laid down on his couch and took a breather.

"Most likely after a few days of checking out the deep part of the archives. Give it a week or 2." I mused.

"You think he'll tell us?" He asked anxiously.

"Bro, chill. He will, don't worry. We're way too close for him to NOT tell us, not to mention that we're like their godparents now." I waved a hand at him.

"*Sigh* I'm just worried that things might not go as planned." He remarked.

"If it doesn't we can always improv." I shrugged, hugging a pillow.

"How about them?" He asked.

"Them? Oh, they're doing fine. They've already settled in since last year. We can go visit them if you want." I offered.
