Chapter 7: Safe Haven [REWRITTEN]

[•Lucine's POV•]
"So, I saw your fight with Louvis the other day." Lunate told me out of the blue.

"Huh?" I looked up from my book towards him.

"Your fight in the sparring ground." He explained.

"Ah..."

He must've watched it through the 7 walls... Which means even father knows about it.

I was in the human world right now, in a giant library the Ratris apparently had. My brother came in awhile ago to read as well, we've been reading in silence ever since, until now.

"You gonna tell me what I'm missing here?" He questioned, cutting me off my thoughts.

"You gonna tell me what kind of life you had?" I countered dryly.

"My past life or this life?"

"So you ARE also a reincarnation."

"Of course I am."

"Then how come you don't know what world we're in?"

"Errr..."

"Well?"

There was another moment of silence between us. We never really finished our conversation last time about... This world. And only now is he bringing it up again.

"Look, my parents were really strict when it came to studying. So, I never really had a childhood where I could do anything I wanted. Honestly, I've never been in control of my own life at that time, and I was... Sick of it all..." He explained.

"So... You decided to end it?" I asked softly, a human part of me slowly coming out.

"Well... Yes... Basically." He replied, looking away from me.

"....."

"....."

*Flap flap flap*

"Here."

"Hm?" Lunate turned to me again after hearing the sound of numerous pages flapping and myself.

There, he saw the stack of mangas I created on the side counter. All had the same title "The Promised Neverland".

"What is this?" He asked as he took the first volume and read the title.

"I want you to read them, you'll understand after you finish." Was all I said before standing up, walking over, and hugging him.

"You cant talk to me if you want."

"E-eh?"

"This is why you wanted a sibling right? To have someone to pour your soul into? To have someone support all the days of your immortal life? A shoulder to cry on?" I questioned.

"I-i... Well..." He frowned unsurely.

"You don't have to talk now, we can do it next time. When you're feeling comfortable enough." I reassured, then let go.

"O-okay..." He replied, rubbing his nape nervously.

"Great! Well then, I gotta go! See ya!" I grinned widely and quickly made my way to the door, but stopped as Lunate spoke.

"Thank you."

I looked over my shoulder and gave him a reassuring smile, then immediately left.

*Inhale* *Exhale*

"Alright... You can do this..." I told myself as I focused on a certain background, my eyes shut to see the picture vividly. I felt my mana flow towards my hands, then releasing it.

Awhile later, I felt wind pass through me. By that alone, I opened my eyes to see the picture I imagined come to life.

I found the familiar hill, fresh green grass, fragrant colored flowers, and iconic tree on the center of the hill, a wooden swing attached to it.

I feel as if I'm really here...

I found myself walking towards the tree, then sitting on the swing, my hands holding onto the ropes.

I closed my eyes and enjoyed the serenity the place gave off, it was matching the original perfectly. I guess having the power to create and destroy has it's perks.

This... This can be my safe haven. A place where I go to relax and enjoy peace.

"That's it!" I abruptly said while clicking my fingers.

"You want to know if humans can live in a world you created?" Father repeated my question.

"Yup! So can they?" I asked again.

"Well, as long as you make sure to create oxygen, water, plants, etc. Then you should be good." He informed.

"Great! Thanks Dad!"

I immediately left after that without realizing what I called him and went back to my safe haven.

As I saw the hill and tree again, I immediately went to work to make this place livable for humans.

I'm so stupid! How did I not think of this before!?
