Chapter 3

Lee Ji hyun, a handsome tall figure with a handsome salary job. He was a lawyer and even though he was only in his early thirties, he managed to create a name in the law field. But he wasn't that lucky in his love life. He dated a girl while he was studying law. Later on she became his secretary. They used to love each other, take care of each other, understand each other. Everything was perfect.
It was late December, four years ago, the weather was chilly. Lee Ji hyun was waiting in a coffee shop for her. He was about to propose her today. He was excited and nervous. She entered the cafe.
"Dalmi, here" Lee Ji hyun called her name.
She walked towards him. Her heels clicking on the floor.
"Let's not see each other anymore"
Lee Ji hyun couldn't believe what he just heard. They were perfect why she was saying that suddenly, he thought.
"But why?" Lee Ji hyun was heartbroken.
"I know we are perfect and understand each other and you are a nice guy too but can't continue this relationship" she said and she knew she was cold but turned her back to walk towards the door.
"Dalmi please don't leave me. I know you still love me as much as I love you." Lee Ji hyun said while grabbing her hand, trying to stop her. His voice trembling.
She didn't look back but got rid of his hand easily as he was holding her so gently.
"I'm leaving the secretary job too" and without any further words she left the place.
Lee Ji hyun wasn't able to date anyone past these four years. His mother kept on insisting him to date but he had never found any interest in any of them . He wasn't ashamed to admit that he couldn't move on . He still had feelings for her and believed dalmi had the same for him. So he tried to contact her and also used to send gifts and best wishes on her birthday over these past years.
Lee Ji hyun woke up and after freshening up,he went towards the kitchen. He took a bowl filled with milk and cereals. He liked to check the newspapers , letters or mails while having breakfast.
He almost choked when his eye fell on an envelope. It's from dalmi. He hurriedly opened the envelope and he was shocked.
It's an invitation card. A wedding invitation card.
'Seo Dalmi Weds Nam Do San'
He didn't notice when his spoon fell on the floor. He was shocked because of Dalmi's wedding news but became more motionless to the fact that to whom she was getting married to. Nam Do San, the guy who he helped when he was starting a startup. It was a year before he and dalmi broke up. Lee Ji hyun helped him in solving the cyber security problem his company faced. They worked together for a whole one year and so he, Do San and Dalmi became close. They used to hang out a lot together. But didn't get to reach him as Do San went to the USA to start his business and it was around when he broke up with Dalmi. He tried his best not to come with the conclusion that Dalmi left him for Dosan and went to the USA with him but couldn't find any other. His heart clenched. How foolish he was. He was heartbroken. He got ready for the work. He only realized that it's Sunday when he reached the office and no one was there. He also realized that today is the wedding too at the KB hall. He didn't want to go back home. He roamed around the city and lastly entered a bar in the early evening. It wasn't crowded at all.
He took a corner table and ordered his drink. He wasn't much of a drinker and suddenly his eyes got stuck on a petite figure with long legs trying her best to get rid of her from a man's prey. He couldn't help but butting in and took a hold of her hand to help her. When he took a glance of her face, his breath hitched. Her drunken eyes were ethereal, her pale cheeks were red, her lips were soothing. She looked magical.
