I finished my cigarette and transformed into a small bird. I flew over the city thinking of where I could go. 'I could go to Bakugos house and ask to stay there. No, I would just get in the way. I'll just go to the tree house.' I thought I caught a glimpse of Eraserhead following me, but nobody would care enough to do that, so I dismissed the idea.
When I got to the tree house I could see that the lights were on inside so I decided to go in through the door so that I didn't scare them. (It's happened a few times, I fly in through the window and transform while they're not expecting it. They always get scared when I do that.)
I admired the tree house from the outside. Over the years we had been adding on to it, sometimes just replacing rotting boards and other times expanding it. It was the closest thing I had to a home. I went in and Kami was sitting inside. He looked upset, and his cheeks were red. Maybe from crying. I could guess at why he wasn't at home. His parents were very against anything LGBTQ+ and Kami must have told them he was gay. However, I didn't know if he got kicked out or if he decided to leave.
"Hey Zuku, what's up bro?" Kami asked me. "Nothing much, what about you?"
"Um...well I told my parents. I thought it was probably best to just leave. They said they didn't want someone like me living with them, unless I 'change'." Kami's voice cracked when he said change. I would tell him he could stay with me, but that's not exactly true.
"Also, I'll be going to your school because mine burned down in a vilain attack." Kami said. "Oh really? Cool! I mean... not cool that your school burned down, but you know what I mean." Kami chuckled at that. I was kind of blunt and he usually thought it was funny. I was excited that Kami was going to be at the same school as me and Katsuki, even if they were already half way through their last year of junior high.
"Well, at least you got off easy with your parents." I said. Maybe I shouldn't have said that, it was a bit selfish.
" What do you mean? Isn't getting kicked out of my home enough?" I could tell he was a bit upset with my statement, but I didn't really feel like protecting anyone's feelings today.
"Well if I came out to my mast-'dad' I would be dead. That fucking bastard isn't even my real father" I decided to shut up before I said something else I'd regret. I could tell he was worried about me, I hadn't told him Hisashi wasn't my father till now. "Hey are you o-wait, what were you about to call him?" 'Shit, what do I say? No, I can't say anything. I can't tell anyone.'
I couldn't tell him the answer that he wanted, so instead I said, "I don't know how much longer I can live there. If I can't get away soon he might kill me. Not to mention if he finds out I've told anyone..."
"I'm sorry, I didn't know it was getting this bad..."
'Getting this bad? It's always been this bad, I just didn't tell you...' Of course I didn't say that, but I did say, "Nah man it's fine, I've gotten use to the daily beatings by now." which was more or less the truth. We sat in a comfortable silence for a while, with my head on Kamis lap. I was mostly asleep, but I could feel Kami playing with my hair. When Bakugou climbed into the tree house I was too tired to open my eyes, so I just layed there in silence and listen their conversation.
"Hey Katsuki, why are you here? Also why are you soaking wet?" I could hear water dripping from Kacchans clothes. "Tch. I went on a walk when some jerks pushed me into the lake, so I came here to dry off. Why the fuck are you here? You're never here this late." Kami stopped messing with my hair. "I told my parents I was gay. They thought it was best if I didn't live there anymore, so I'm going to stay here. I don't want to go into the foster system, so they're just going to have me do whatever. I guess I'll just stay here and go to you school now."
"Oh. I hope you're ok. Hey, uh..It might not be the best time but I-uh wanted to tell you something." "Ok, sure. What is it?"
"Uh. well.. I-uh- See-you-as-more-than-just-a-friend." He said it so fast I could hardly make out the words.
"Like best friends?" Kami was so oblivious. Even I knew what was happening, and I was half asleep.
"Well, that's not exactly what I meant..."
"Like...brothers?" Denki questioned again. Ok, I want to see this. I opened my eyes a bit to see what was happening. Kacchan was sitting next to Dinki. Kanchans face was red from embarrassment, while Denki just looked confused. I bit my tongue, trying not to laugh at them. Neither of them noticed that I was watching. "No dumbass! I want to gay with you!" Bakugou replied impatiently. "Oh, I love you too Katsu." Katsuki looked relieved that they had finally gotten through that.
"Denki will you be my boyfriend?" Kacchan asked. For the first time in his life he said something quietly. Denki smiled. "Yes." They leaned in to kiss. They barely had contact for a fraction of a second before I jumped up yelling "Mission BakuKami ship sail!" and, "I knew it! I knew you two would get together!" They were both blushing bright red.
