I sat comparing how I should feel. Lauren was found. But Chloe and Dani was dead. Molly left and I couldn't help but feel the bittersweet feelings in my stomach. I leaned back on my sofa, the night pulling in the dark outside and my Stacey looking at me with worry in her eyes "I get it, you want to be happy, but you can't." Stacey said in her northern accent but my heart couldn't cope "Stace, I love you, but no, you don't get it. my three of my friends were MURDERED but one of them came back years after." I said getting off the sofa and throwing the gold and pink pillow behind me onto the sofa and Stacey jumped up "Where y' going?" she asked and I sighed "For a walk" I said but Stacey held her arm out "No, you aren't! not when someone's tryna kill you all ya aint!" she said and I knew better than to argue with her "Fine." I said and headed to bed.
In the morning my phone buzzed and I looked at the calls "Unknown Number" rang and I answered "Hello?!" and I heard a familiar voice echo out of the speaker "Erm, Hi, Jade? It's Lauren. Could you grab Jess and come to mine please?, Urgent?" she asked and I breathed "Yes! of course. we will be there in ten minutes!" I said and then the phone hung up.
I grabbed on my light olive green jumper, pushed my bright red hair into a ponytail and shoved on my joggers with my dollies, and made my way around the corner to Lauren's. One thing I noticed walking in Lauren's was the strange atmosphere. The weirdness that I hadn't been here since a child. It was the same feeling of when I didn't want to do something Loz wanted so she banned us from the group and you never thought you would see her house again.
Walking into Lauren's room it felt as thought Lauren herself had changed, I guess she had. The room itself though, looked like a time capsule from our teenage years, the knock on the door bed sheets, lava lamps, blow up furniture and pictures from our past. I looked around and Lauren laughed "It's ok to feel weird. My mum hasn't changed anything since I-" and she stopped. I felt a shiver go down my spine "Its fine! Its normal, but oh wow, the memories we have in this room!" I said and Jess walked in behind "YES!" she half shouted "It's like a time capsule of our youth in here!" Jess said her blonde hair flicking around her face as she spoke and Lauren seemed agitated. "Loz! Remember when we sat on the blow up sofa playing-" I started and Lauren cut me off "A board game? of course!" she said and I laughed "No, I meant sims!" I said but this seemed to upset her "I'm tired, will see you both tomorrow?!" she said and we knew we had to leave, as I was leaving I see Loz's mum and she grinned at me "I am so glad she's home!" I said and I see a sad smile in her face.
I got home, opened my laptop and heard an email beep "For you" the message read, I opened the email and notice there was no email, it was just blank where there was supposed to be an email and the subject which said for you. I scrolled down to see a picture of Lauren and another girl with Lauren's mum "Ok?" I said out loud, confused. I screen shotted the image and sent it over to Jess "Any idea?" I asked and Jess messaged with a zoomed in picture "omg."
In the picture, there were two girls, around eight years of age, looked like Lauren, both the exact same except one had brighter hair and brighter eyes and my heart dropped "Oh my god! Lauren had a twin?" I half shouted and my head couldn't take much more of this.
