Chapter Fifteen- Clowns, Vampires and Woods oh my!

Shock at what Chloe had told me and Jade barely had died down, but suddenly a week later and it was Friday, I had just got in from another day at the office and slumped onto debs sofa. My mum who I call Debs has let me and Myles stay for a while. We don't quite want to have our own place whilst all the stuff is going on. Deep in thought I jumped high when my phone buzzed and vibrated in my pocket and breathed a sigh when I pulled it out and see it was only Myles 'Got our outfits for tonight! your gonna love em, I love you J! X' He said and my stomach swelled, I am so excited for this party, but also nervous, if Rob really was the killer, why were we all hired and why throw this party in honor of a town he seemed to hate?

Later that evening, I was in the bathroom doing my make up, Myles behind me pulling on his costume "Do you think we are a little corny for wearing a couples costume? will the others be wearing one?" He said worried and I giggled whilst putting mascara on "Ouch!" I said, I got the mascara brush in my eye. I wiped the mascara from underneath and stepped back admiring myself in the long mirror "Nice!" Myles said and kissed my cheek. I looked at him "Not so bad yourself!" I said and lightly tapped him in the stomach and we both laughed, we looked into the mirror and I pulled out my phone, Myles laughed "Selfie, of course!" he whined and we got into position, both of us dressed as a dead jock, red and gold jersey on, paint on his face, me with my skimpy cheerleader outfit paired with high heels, my hair in pigtails, full face of make up and quite frankly it was my fave costume, I uploaded the picture onto my photogram 'Me & my fave ready for tonight! X' I captioned it and a little whooshing then ping sound had told me it had been posted. 

Once we were ready, we got into Myles car, he turned on the radio and started to drive "The common is about a ten minute drive isn't it?" he added and I nodded. We lived on the other side of town from the common and the woods. I sat back, the fog engulfing the car, was always foggy on Halloween. The radio echoed in my mind "Happy Hallooweeeennnn!" The radio host said he's deep voice sounding like Dracula, the radio host done a creepy laugh and continued on "Now before we spooky boogie, I just want to say, stay safe all! have fun whatever your all hallloowsss eveeee plannnss!" He added in a drawn out exaggerated voice. I laughed and Myles mocked him "BE SAFEEEEEEEEEEEE" he said and I laughed harder "You know, I think this is exactly what we all need tonight, to let loose and have a little fun!" I said and my heart pounded with excitement as the song started playing I noticed a lot of people dressed up, clearly taking kids trickle treating and I grinned "I love Halloween, not quite as much as creepy Chlo, but I do" I said and we both laughed "She's always been so obsessed" I added at Myles silence he laughed "Yeah, she said before". The conversation came to a halt when we pulled up near the common "Woah, doesn't do things by half your boss does he!" Myles said, clearly shocked, but then so was I.

As I got out of the car and we both slammed the doors, I looked across the common, far back to the woods, I could see lanterns, hear people screaming then laughing in fright. A bunch of wood had been placed as a path from the car park across the common and up to the woods. I shivered and remembered when we all spent time here. A car pulled in behind us and illuminated us with light, the lights on the car turned off and out got Jade and Stacey, Jade wearing an orange prison uniform, a blonde wig and a sticker on her orange jumpsuit in black saying 'Piper' and Stacey wearing a khaki version of the same outfit had a black wig on and glasses and her sticker said 'Alex' I loved their costumes it was genius! "OH MY GOD!" I shouted as I looked them over "You both look amazing!" I laughed and they both grinned "Thank you, Thank you!" Stacey said doing a mock bow, "Looking good yourself kid!" She said and Jade looked around "Where's Chlo and Lee?" She said confused "Ohhh! They said they would meet us there, although I did tell her it would probably be impossible for her to find us, I checked online and apparently over 800 tickets have been bought, that's the majority of the town. "She will find us" Myles said and we all decided to go up to the ticket booth, a wooden booth with a creepy looking clown "Tickets please!" He roared and we all looked at each other "Were employees, we were told by Roberto we didn't need tickets?" I said and the clown nodded "Go through" the clowns voice echoed "And beware, only enter if you dare!" The clown said again and done a loud haunted laugh and we all walked forward "I hate clowns, they give me the creeps" I said and they all laughed.

Walking into woods with glowing lanterns hanging off of branches I could hear shouting and giggling, but you could barely see anything with all the fog surrounding us, a vampire nearly walked into us, and dropped his cup and slurred a sorry as he stumbled off. My phone buzzed 'Jess, its Chlo, can we have a chat please, alone? Meet me behind the drink stand please, am using some rando's number my phones died and I can't find Lee!!" My face flushed "Uh guys, am gonna go find Chlo, she said to me she wants to speak to me-" I said rushed and Jades face screwed up "About what?" She asked rather loud "Not sure, she asked to speak to me alone, maybe I annoyed her or?" Worry was clear in my voice and I stalked off "See you guys soon." I said and they waved and I smiled, even though my stomach was gnawing with fear that I just couldn't quite explain. I wandered through more trees with lanterns until I came into a huge big opening in the woods, loads of people were dancing, fairy lights were littered around the trees, tables were lined around making the circle in the middle a dance floor, the tables were littered with drinks, wine, cocktails which were fizzing and glittering, cauldron's of pitchers and weird looking Halloween themed sweets and food. I noticed a gap through one of the tables at the back and walked towards it 'Keep walking up, am in the trees' the text said and I shivered as I walked toward the woods.

Leaves crunched under my feet and the music and lights started to get further away as I made my way further into the woods, my heart beating fast, wind gently whipping my face "Chlo?" I called and my phone buzzed in my hand 'Sorry, not Chloe, but I am loving seeing you' the text said and I spun around, fear ebbing at every part of me and I turned around to go walking back towards the distant music but someone was in front of me, they waved and I screamed and ran as fast as I could in the other direction "HELP!!!!" I screamed "SOMEBODY HELP ME!!!!!!" I screamed louder and my arm bashed into the tree and slowed me down, slowed me enough for the person behind me to grab hold of my hair "Sleep tight bitch" I heard and I was yanked backwards, my phone slipping from my hand.
