Chapter Ten- The girls are not ok

I scrolled onto my phone to find Stacey and dialed "Stace?" I said as I heard her answer "Is Jade there?" I said again and coughed with anxiety, not used to speaking on the phone, "Lee?, Naw mate, I think she's with her mam and dad" Stacey said and my stomach dropped "I knocked earlier, she isn't there." I said and heard Stacey's breathing go faster "She was here earlier mate, but she said she was poppin to see her mam and dad!" Stacey said. I thought for a second "Stace. I'm worried, Myles messaged me asking if I had seen Jess, she's been gone since this morning, said she was meeting Jade this morning?" I said and Stacey's breathing sped up "She didn't mention nothin to me, she went to her mams and said she would be home soon, ain't heard a peep from her since" Stacey replied and I breathed "The killer-" I was going to say and Stacey cut me off "I know, I'll call her mam and see when she left hers" and we said our goodbyes and hung up.

An hour later Stacey called back "I'm really worried now, Jade's mam said she hasn't seen her, they never arranged to see each other today." Stacey's voice trembled and another call was coming in on my line "I'll call you back, Myles is calling me" I said and answered Myles call "Myles?" I asked and he breathed "Lee, Jess left her phone here, I kept hearing ringing and found it in the bathroom, she had a text this morning from the killer, so did Jade" He said clearly panicking now and my heart pounded now and I felt like it was going to come out of my chest "What was the message?" Myles coughed and then read out the message 'I wanted to give you both a chance, either you come to me ALONE or I will send the little secret you have been keeping to the police, see you soon bitches- Garages off the woods by 12 Purford Green. COME ALONE. I will be waiting"

I phoned Stacey and told her what Myles had told me and Stacey raged "WE NEED TO CALL THE POLICE!!" I tried to calm her down "Stace, they said to the girls to come alone, if we go there they may get hurt" I reasoned but Stacey was beyond reasoning with "NO, LEE, NO. They are with a killer! they will get hurt anyway!" She said and I breathed "Lets go and check out this place, once we get an idea of what we are dealing with and the safety of the girls, then we will call the police. I don't want what happened to... Chloe.. to happen to you." my heart ached even saying her name and my ears swelled with tears. Stacey calmed down and agreed and Myles said he was finishing up in the office so would drive and meet us there.

I heard a beep outside ten minutes later and Stacey was outside in her silver family car, her face riddled with worry. I remember the feeling all to well. I opened the car door and jumped in the passengers seat "We will find them" I said and Stacey breathed "Yea, no doubt, but dead or alive is what's worrying me" She said and we sat in silence, we pulled past the middle of town, the offices where both Jess and Myles work, some lights still on in the glass building. Lamp posts shone and we drove further out nearer to the woods "Come on" Stacey said and I looked out the window again, the church its huge steeple, blue and white exterior flashing past then more houses when finally we turned near the woods and Stace pulled the hand break up. "This is the closest we can get by car, the rest we will need to do by foot." She said, and I nodded.

The garages was only accessible by walking through the woods, there used to be houses there, they got demolished and the woods took over. Years and years ago. We slammed the car doors shut and Stacey got out her mini flash light and flicked it on "Your like a modern Mary Poppins" I said and laughed and Stacey laughed. We moved through the woods and Stacey moved the torch about from left to right "Any idea what way were going?" Stacey asked "No I don't, Chlo took me here a few times, mentioned about when they were young but other than that never been here without her" I said and swallowed back tears, Stacey walked towards me and put her hand on my shoulder "Jade misses her too" She said and then Stacey's phone beeped and we heard a crunch behind us, we swung around and Stace got out her phone "They will be reunited soon enough, then the world will be pure and free of the evil bitches" the text read and Stacey panicked you could see the panic on her face. I tried to calm her, but nothing would.
