A week has passed since going to dinner with Morgan and the others. I had some spare time last week so I watched their first game. Morgan played well and they ended up winning. Morgan had asked me if I wanted to go to their game tonight. I want to go, but these books aren't going to read themselves.
Morgan: "Hey, I'll save you a ticket just incase. In your favourite seat :)"
Ever since I saw Morgan play the first time, I've always sat in the same spot. Across from the benches right at centre ice.
Me: "Hey, sure! I might be able to make it! Thanks!"
Morgan: "Always B."
Tonight was their home opener game. I knew that Morgan would like it if I were there. I'd be able to see all of the guys on the team too. I planned to go. I spent the entire afternoon reading and I ended up getting everything done. I got ready and I wore distressed light jeans with an oatmeal coloured hoodie with a black denim jacket. I got right there in time to see warm up. I sat there and watched Morgan and the rest skate around. He saw me and smiled. He was happy I was there. They all went back to their locker rooms and I get a text from Morgan.
Morgan: "Come down to the locker room after."
I knew he'd say that. The game went by and they won against the Oilers. Morgan scored and Mitch ended up scoring the game winning goal. I let some of the crowd empty out beside me. I knew that Morgan wasn't going to be out for a few minutes. I sat on my phone and I see a new notification.
@nickrobertson01 started following you
I didn't think anything of it too much. Other players from the team followed me like Mitch and Auston and Travis. I walk down to the locker room behind a crowd of other women. I wait further down the hall than them. I see Morgan come out of the dressing room with Auston. They are both wearing their suits. "Hey B!" Morgan sees me after looking around the room.
"Hey you guys played great tonight!" I say to them as Morgan hugs me and I hug Auston.
"Thanks B."
"Brooks, no jersey tonight? I thought I gave you my jersey for Christmas last year?" Auston jokes.
"Nah. There's enough people wearing 34." I joke. I look past Morgan and Auston to see a group of players come out of the locker room. I unconsciously scan for Nick. "I had a good time tonight Mo."
"That's good. Let me drive you home."
"Thanks. It was good to see you Auston."
"See ya Brooksy" He walks away down the hall towards the exit.
"So, Robertson seemed to light up when he saw you sitting there." Morgan said to me as we walk down the hall.
"Wait what?"
"B, I think he likes you a bit."
"Oh." Was all I could say.
"Listen B, you don't have to tell me you like him or hate him. I'm just saying, he's a nice kid." I stay silent. What am I supposed to say to that? "If he ever asked you to hang out or anything you know I'd be fine with it." Maybe I was attracted to him. Ok I found him nice and cute the other night.
"Thanks. I'll consider that." Morgan drives me home and we talk about the game and the next game. There is another home game in a few days. Morgan said he'd have my ticket but I should be studying. School is really busy these days. I also scroll through Nick's instagram and follow him back.
Later that night I find myself sitting at my desk that faces a window showing the night life of Toronto. I am studying for a test in a few days when I see my phone get a notification.
@nickrobertson01: Hey Brooks, I hope you had a good time at the game tonight!
@brookseastwood: Hey! I did you, played great out there tonight :)
@nickrobertson01: We play again in two days. Can I get a ticket for you?
Morgan always got me a ticket for the game, but Nick is being nice.
@brookseastwood: Sure, I'll be there!
@nickrobertson01: Awesome, do you want to grab a coffee before the game?
@brookseastwood: That would be awesome, here's my number xxx-xxx-xxxx
@nickrobertson01: Perfect :) Goodnight Brooks
A/N: Hi! I hope you are enjoying the new book. Make sure to check out my other story. I'm sorry this chapter is a little shorter xx
