I walk into the Scotiabank Arena knowing that I won't be sitting in my usual spot. I head to will call and pick up my ticket. I walk into the rink and see that my ticket is a glass seat at the corner in the leafs starting end. I head to my seat and sit on my phone until they come out for practice. I meet eyes with Nick and smile. He looked very happy to see me sitting there. I wait for Morgan to notice me, but he doesn't see me until he's talking to Alex. He has a confused look on his face, but lets it go. The game starts and the boys are playing well. They end up winning the game and I let the arena clear out before heading down to the locker room. I wait in my normal spot, which is further down the hall and away from the other women and families waiting. Morgan comes out first and I sigh. I know he's going to have questions. "B, you could've told me." He says softly.
"Told you what?" I question
"Come on B, you know. Section 108 is your typical seat. Not on the corner."
"Fine. Nick asked me out for coffee and offered me a ticket to the game."
"See? You could've just told me."
"I'm sorry, I didn't know how you'd respond."
"It's fine. I like him anyways."
"Me too." I say and Morgan smiles.
"I'll let you wait for your guy. See you later B." He waves and heads down the hall. I get out my phone and text Auston.
Me: "As far as Morgan knows that little run in we had earlier didn't happen."
Auston: "So nothing happened between you and Robby?"
Me: "Not like you think."
Auston: "Really? So what did you do?" I can only imagine the smirk on his face sending the message.
Me: "Auston stop it. I helped him pick out his outfit for the game."
Auston: "I knew that kid looked better than usual tonight."
Me: "Right"
Auston comes out of the locker room next with Mitch and a few others. "Your boyfriend will be right out." He says winking to me as he passes. I could only hit his arm before he was passed me.
Me: "It was one date."
Auston: "I was kidding"
"Hey," Nick comes out of the locker room "So how did you like your seat?" He asks
"Hey! It was perfect. Not my usual seat but it might be my new one." I laugh and we walk down the hall.
"The corners are the best. I asked Auston where you liked to sit but he said that Morgan has been getting that seat every game for the past year." Nick tells me as we walk to the car.
"A year? Oh my. He would offer me every single time last season, but I'd have class or school work so I'd never go. Awe now I feel bad."
"Yeah, he really likes looking out for you."
"He's been doing it since the Vancouver days." We get into the car.
"It's got to be nice to have someone like him around."
"Yeah, I have an older brother but I've always been closer to Morgan."
"Is he still in Vancouver?"
"Yeah, he's a med student in New York."
"Wow, you want to be a lawyer and he's in med school. You Eastwood's must be smart or something." He laughs.
"Oh he's definitely smarter than me, but let's talk about your game. You played so good and you didn't seem nervous!"
"Yeah thanks. It helped with you there. I'm also fitting in better with the guys."
"That's good!"
"We play tomorrow and I think we have a good shot at winning again."
"Yeah, I think you can make it happen."
"Do you want me to reserve your new seat for tomorrow?"
"I'll have to see, I have some studying to do. I'm sorry." He pulls in front of my building.
"It's no problem Brooks. I get it. School is important for a future lawyer." He winks. "I'll see you later."
"Thank you, and I'll see you later." I lean over and kiss him before getting out of the car. I go up to my apartment and get ready for bed. I had a long day of classes on campus ahead of me.
