Chapter 15: Telling

 It's been a week since Mondo and Taka's first date; they have been happily spending time together and are proud to call eachother boyfriends. Word spreads around pretty quickly, most of the people were happy that the two were together, while others... Not so much, but the two lovers don't really seemed to mind, not everyone can be accepting. So far they haven't told any family members yet, but today it was going to change that. He was in his room after a long day of hanging out with his new boyfriend; he decided to call his brother to tell him the news.

"Sup bro! It's been awhile since you've called!" Daiya answered the phone; some voices can be heard in the background.

"Ay bro, sorry I've been busy. Are you with the gang?" Mondo asked.

"Yeah, the gang wanted me to hang out with them for a night. Just because I'm retired doesn't mean I can't chill out with the gang!"

"That's great bro. Anyway, I called to tell you some new."

"Oooo, is it about your crush?"

"Yep, we had our first date a week ago and now we're together."

"YO GANG! Mondo got a boyfriend!" Daiya yelled out to the gang in excitement, they all cheered loudly. They all showed support for their boss's new love life.

"Thanks gang! I appreciate it!" Mondo thanked his gang, he was glad he had them.

Mondo and his gang talked and joked around for hours until it was midnight, and Mondo had to end the call to sleep so Taka wouldn't scold him for sleeping late. Even though he's really cute when he's angry.

 On Taka's side, he had already told his dad, Takaaki Ishimaru, that he was gay long ago, but he hadn't told him about Mondo yet. He was hesitant to tell his farther, who was strict but very caring, he was always there to support his son, but he was unsure if he would support him anymore with him dating Mondo, who's a biker gang leader. Taka took a deep breath and dialed his dad's number, he hoped that his dad was too busy to answer his call but he eventually picked up after a minute.

"Hello son, why'd you call all of a sudden?" Takaaki answered the phone.

"Hello dad! I'm sorry I haven't been calling you often... I've been busy..." Taka said.

"It's okay Taka... I know you have a lot of studying to do."

"So dad, I called you because I wanted to tell you something..."

"You can tell me anything son. What is it?"

"I-I have a boyfriend now..."

"That's great son! I knew you would be able to find love!"

"But... You may not like who h-he is..."

"What do you mean? Who is he?"

Taka stayed quiet for a while, scared to answer.

"Taka? Are you there son?"

"Yes... My new boyfriend is..." Taka stutter and took a deep breath. "Mondo Owada..."

"Mondo... Owada? The leader of 'The Crazy Diamonds'?"

"Yes... I'm sorry..."

Takaaki stayed silent, which made Taka start panicking, thinking of all the worst possible outcomes.

"Taka." Takaaki said which made Taka brace himself. "I'm happy for you. You see something in him that I don't."

"H-Huh?" Taka was surprised by his father's response.

"You were thinking I'll hate you just because you're dating him. I am kinda disappointed that you fell in love with a criminal, but as long as your relationship with him is healthy. I'll accept him." Takaaki reassured his son.

"R-Really? You accept him...?" Taka asked still surprised.

"Of course! If you're happy calling him your boyfriend, then I'm happy. Just tell him to reduce the crimes he does with his gang."

"T-Thank you dad..."

"It's okay son... If he does treat you well and not abusive, then it's okay. I'm proud my son can find love. I hope I can meet him soon, don't worry, I won't arrest him."

"Thank you dad for always being there for me... I can't thank you enough..." Taka said through tears of joy.

"It's a parent's job to make their kid have a happy and fulfilling life. I'd like to meet him; he might not be as bad as I thought."

"I will find the time to do that dad! Thank you!"

"No problem Taka. Now go to sleep, it's late."

"Okay! Goodnight dad!"

"Goodnight son." Takaaki said before he hung up.

Taka lay on his bed smiling, he was happy that his dad was still supportive of him even when his taste in men wasn't what he wanted. He began crying happily until he slept with a smile on his face.

Morning comes around and Taka woke up refreshed as ever, while Mondo was still drowsy but he pulled himself to get up to make Taka happy. He went out his dorm to see a happy Taka waiting for him.

"Hi Mondo!" Taka greeted his boyfriend.

"Hey babe. You seem really happy today." Mondo said happy to see his boyfriend's adorable smile.

"I'm happier than usual is because I told my dad about our relationship, and he accepts it!"

"He accepts it? Damn I'm glad..."

"He wants to meet you actually. Don't worry! I'll make sure he doesn't arrest you!"

"Of course I know you wouldn't let him do that."

"Have you told your brother and gang about us yet?"

"Yep, they were ecstatic."

The two boys then talked and hung out with eachother like they always do, talking about their family and stuff.
