Chapter 2: Guilt?

 It's been a few weeks since Mondo first encountered Kiyotaka, he has run into him a couple more times, each time they meet Mondo's hate for Taka gets bigger and bigger. In the weeks he has been here, he made some new friends, a clairvoyant named Yasuhiro, a mafia boss named Fuyuhiko and a mechanic named Kazuichi. Both Fuyuhiko and Kazuichi were from class 87, the class right next to Mondo's. Lunch time rolls around and Mondo went too sat with his friends at a table near the back of the cafeteria.

"So how's your day been Mondo Man?" Leon asked his corn haired friend.

"Today's like always, got detention again from that hall monitor." Mondo answered.

"Jeez, this is like the tenth time." Fuyuhiko said taking a sip of his water.

"Hey, speaking of the hall monitor..." Kazuichi chimed in.

"What is it?" The clairvoyant asked. "Oh wait! I think I know what you mean." Yasuhiro said while he holds his crystal ball with his other hand circling around the said ball.

"Do you carry that ball everywhere?" Mondo asked with a confused look on his face.

"I think what you're going to say Soda, is that we never see that hall monitor in the cafeteria." Yasuhiro said, ignoring Mondo's question.

"Yeah! That's what I was gonna say!" Kazuichi said shocked.

"They don't call me the 'Ultimate Clairvoyant' for nothing!" Yasuhiro said as he patted himself on the back. Mondo began looking around to see if this was true, and he didn't spot Kiyotaka anywhere.

"Yeah, you're right. He's nowhere to be seen."

"That's weird." Fuyuhiko said looking around also. "Knowing him, he should follow the 'three meals a day' thing."

"Yeah I know right? I once got a lecture from him to not say 'unkind things about our classmates.'" Soda added.

"Maybe he's hiding a secret?" Leon suggested.

"That bitch hiding a secret? It does seem like it." Mondo said with a mouthful of his food.

"I say we should finish our lunch and find out what he's up to at this time." Fuyuhiko said. They all agreed and finished their lunch quickly and left the cafeteria, it didn't take them long to find Taka.

"There he is. He's in the school courtyard." Leon said, directed to his friends.

"What is he doing?" The five boys were hiding behind a pillar near the courtyard, watching Kiyotaka. Taka was sitting on one of the benches near a hedge; he was eating out of his bento which he made in his dorm because the dorm rooms were like small apartments, equipped with a small kitchen.

"Does he go here just to eat his lunch alone?" Kazuichi said with a surprised look on his face.

"Damn, that's depressing. Eating alone." Fuyuhiko said.

"Well, I never see him hang out with anyone." Yasuhiro said.

"So... He has no friends?" Leon responded.

"That's even more depressing!" Kazuichi said. While his friends talk about Taka, all Mondo could do was look at him, there was this feeling inside him, it felt heavy. Was this guilt? No. How could he feel bad for that bitch? Mondo was thinking to himself again until Leon snapped him back to reality. "Yooo. Mondo! You've been staring at Kiyotaka for a while. You good man?" Leon snapped his fingers in front of Mondo's face.

"Uhh, yeah I'm fine. I'm not surprised he has no friends. Who would want to friends with someone like him?" Mondo insulted. By that time, Kiyotaka had finished his lunch and had started to walk to his dorm room to put away his bento. Before the five guys knew it, he was gone.

"Huh, he left." Yasuhiro said.

"He must've finished his lunch." Fuyuhiko said.

"Well, it's almost time for class. We wouldn't want to have detention like Mondo would we?" Kazuichi said looking at a clock mounted on a wall nearby.

"Yeah we should get going. See ya later dudes!" Leon said waving to Soda and Fuyuhiko while he walked to class with Mondo and Yasuhiro. After class, Mondo decided to go for a night ride with his gang, by the time he came back to the academy, the school was empty since most the students go to sleep at that time. While he was walking to his dorm, he walked past the library and saw a familiar shape sitting on one of the chairs. He looked from the entrance and saw that the shape he saw was Kiyotaka himself. 'Why is this nerd up so late!?' Mondo thought to himself. He decided to approach the hall monitor to see what he was doing.

"Hey bitch." Mondo spoke out while he sat down in a chair next to him, which startled Taka.

"That language is not acceptable in a school environment Owada." Taka said while he looked at Mondo tired.

"Why are you up this late? You should be sleeping!" Taka scolded.

"Yeah yeah, I know. Why are YOU up late though?" Mondo talked back to Taka.

"There's a test soon! Did you forget? You should be study for it!" Taka just scolded back. Now that Mondo has a better look at Taka, he realized Taka had bags under his big red eyes.

"Wow, you look worse when you're tired."

"I think it's enough studying for today." Taka just ignored Mondo's comment and started putting the books away. Mondo could see that Taka was too tired to keep his posture straight, and his walking seems weak and slow.

"I'll be going back to my dorm now... Good night Owada..." Taka said drowsily as he slowly inches towards the halls, Mondo still sitting on one of the chairs. It only took a few seconds until Mondo heard a loud thump; he walked out of the library and was met with an unconscious Taka, lying on the floor face down. 'What a damn idiot. Overworking himself until he passes out.' Mondo said as he walked to the unconscious hall monitor. He began feeling around Taka's pockets to get his student e-handbook, and then he picked Kiyotaka up and began carrying him to his dorm room, the dorm rooms need the student's e-handbook to enter. After what seems like forever, he finally got to Taka's dorm, opened it and put Taka on his bed, he then put the e-handbook on the bedside table and walked out to go back to his own dorm. 

 When morning came, Kiyotaka woke up to see he was in his dorm room. 'Huh? I thought I passed out in the hallways? Unless he...' Taka thought. 'Could he have brought me to my dorm room for me? I guess... He isn't as heartless as I thought...' Taka thought smiling to himself.
