The Ex

I'm woken up by the sound of water going off. I sit upright and Mnqobi is not in bed he must be taking a shower. I fixed the bed and went to wash my face and brush my teeth in one of the bathrooms. I started with breakfast. I made scrambled eggs seasoned with black pepper with mushrooms , sliced fried tomatoes , bacon and toast. I dished it up and felt hands wrap around me as Mnqobi buried his head on my neck

Mnqobi : Morning muntu wam

Me : Morning

He turned me around to look at him

Mnqobi : uRight?

I nod

Mnqobi: look I'm sorry about last night i should've listened to your concerns and ngiyakthembisa from now I'll listen i know at the beginning of this relationship ngathi we should communicate and listen to each other and i haven't been doing , ngiyaxolisa sthandwa sam.

Me : ngiyabonga Mageba , all i need from you is to listen sibonisane okay?

Mnqobi: alright my love.

He kissed me on the forehead

Me : aren't you going to work ?

Mnqobi : no I'm saying in with my baby today

I smiled

Me: you hungry?

Mnqobi: I'm starving

Me: go sit down I'll bring your food right now

He smiled and pecked me on the lips and went to the living room.  I finished plating the food up and placed it on a tray with a cup of coffee. I placed the tray on the coffee table and gave him a dishcloth so he could wipe his hands . " i could get used to this" he said with a stupid grin on his face , i giggled "ungazthembisi bhutiza!" I replied as i went to the kitchen to get my plate and i sat next to him. "After this get ready we need to fetch your things" he says without looking at me , "oh and grocery shopping as well !" I say as i stuff a piece of mushroom in my mouth . I feel Mnqobi's eyes burning on me. "What ?" I ask , " this is what i wanted grocery shopping with you" , " but we've shopped for groceries together before..." . "Ngiyazi but not grocery shopping for our house " he answers. Our house? Uhm okay what is Mnqobi on about now , i just smiled and finished off my breakfast. I went on to take a shower and got dressed in dusty pink utility pants with a white t-shirt and white sneakers.

Me :alright I'm done let's go

I said as i walked down the stairs , Mnqobi lifted his face up to look at me and a grin appeared in his face

Mnqobi : Hau suka madoda ngadla mina uMageba uNdabezitha uSuthuli uMsholozi hau madoda yimi wonke loh ?

Oh my god this man ! I can't help but smile like an idiot . I walk up to him and he gets up.

Me : oh kodwa Mageba it's just an old outfit njena

Mnqobi : kodwa umuhle wena ndoniyam yamanzi

I blushed and he kissed my forehead and took my hand in his. We first went to pick up my things in my apartment. The place was a mess and those thugs took some of my appliances , good thing they didn't touch my jewelery and clothes. We packed it up and gave the key to the caretaker. After that we drove to Mall of Africa singing our voices out to Anna Wise's Easy our all time jam . We arrives at the mall and started with the grocery shopping  .

We were in woolies in the bakery section and i wanted the chocolate caramel ombre and they only had the rainbow one.

Mnqobi : Ask for the manager

Me : why the manager and not just one of the packers or something

Mnqobi : do you want the cake or not? Anyways you'll find me in the toiletry aisle

Me :  mxm ave uneDrama , I'll ask one of the packers .

Mnqobi walked away with the now full trolley as I walked to the counter and there was a coloured woman , i asked her and she brought one for me and it smelled amazing! I thanked her and walked to the toiletry aisle.

As i walked into the aisle i spotted Mnqobi and walked up to him and placed the cake in the trolley. "Hey Mnqobi , wow " a voice called out . I lifted my face up and there was a light skinned thick woman infront of us who had the brightest smile ever . I glanced at Mnqobi who was looking at this woman as if he had just seen a ghost, okay weird. " Amanda , hi this is a surprise , i thought you moved to Durban" he said as he brushed the back of his neck. "It's been a minute hey , and i moved back this side i got an amazing positing at one of these law firms" she said and Mnqobi just let out a snicker "wow congratulations" .

"Oh tha-" I cleared my throat and the  girl turned her attention to me , "oh hello i didnt see you there " she said with a smile , a fake one at that! And the fuck does she mean she didn't see me there like honestly?! Who's this girl?! I threw her a fake smile. " It was good seeing you Mnqobi " . Mnqobi nodded and she walked away.

Me:and then? Who's that ?

Mnqobi let out a cough

Me: Mnqobi?

Mnqobi : she's my ex , we dated for a while back then.

I arched my eyebrow at him

Me: mmhh well that girl has to be taught some manners or I'll stab her the next time i see her for real !

Mnqobi lets out a chuckle

Mnqobi : good thing you'll never see her again , you got the cake?

I nodded

Mnqobi : alright let's go.

We left and went home. Mnqobi went to his study to get some work done whilst i got started on dinner and had a conference video call with Thabi and Nelisa.
