~Austin’s POV~

“That show was amazing, the fans really loved seeing you back Aaron!” I exclaimed as I fell onto the floor backstage.

“Holy shit, I need a shower, I smell worse than Alan when I lay out in the sun too long.” Aaron said and I laughed. Alan glared and shoved him playfully.

“Shut up, I think we all need a shower.” Alan said. Especially Smelly Carlile down there.” Aaron said. I laughed and Phil grabbed a towel, throwing it at me. I wiped my face down and just laid it on top of me, I was going to sleep like a baby tonight.

**

“How was the interview?” Phil asked as Aaron and I walked back onto the bus.

“Katie Couric never showed up..” Aaron pouted. I laughed and put my arm around him.

“This guy, he cracks me up.” I said and I saw Alan looking up as us from next to Phil. There was something in his eyes, jealousy maybe, I wasn’t sure. Fine, let him be jealous.

“All I’m saying is, I mean if you’re doing an interview, I just wanted Katie Couric to be there but no, not even Oprah. I guess we’re too classy for her.” He continued. I laughed again and sat down on the couch.

“We’re about to go get some food, want any?” Phil asked as Tino appeared behind him. I shook my head and Aaron asked for a hamburger, Alan just shook his head no.

“Hey, do we have a show tomorrow?” Aaron asked me.

“Nah, we get a break because we have to travel a while to our next destination.” I said.

“Sweet, then I’m going to bed.”

“It’s only nine.” Alan said.

“Psh, it’s midnight somewhere.” He said and walked off to his bunk. I snickered and saw Alan narrowing his eyes at me.

“What?” I asked.

“Why did you bring Aaron back?” He asked me.

“Because Justin left, and we needed someone to replace him.”

“Are you sure that’s why you brought him back?” I raised my eyebrows in disbelief.

“Yeah. Alan what’s gotten into you?” I hadn’t even put my jealousy plan into motion yet and he was already flipping out.

“I just.. Austin, I have to tell you something.”

“What?” I asked, not sure where this was going.

“I.. I think-

“Have you guys seen my laptop!?” Aaron asked from the bunk section.  Alan pursed his lips and narrowed his eyes. “Oh, wait, FOUND IT!” He yelled and I rolled my eyes and snickered.

“You were saying?” I asked.

“Nothing, forget it.”

“No, come on, tell me.” I persisted.

“I think… I have to go to the bathroom.” He said and scurried off into the small bathroom. I let out a sigh and let my head fall back against the sofa.

**

“Austin, please let me come back, I made a stupid mistake.” Justin asked, calling from god knows where.

“No, you’re a little shit for doing that to him. You cant tell Alan what he’s feeling, you guys were together. You should have had faith in him and you just threw him away.”

“But Austin I-

“No, Justin, we won’t take you back because, in reality, I’m not about to put Alan in danger again. I’m going to protect him from your stupidity because I care about him.”

“I FUCKING KNEW IT, I KNEW-

“Hell, I might even still love him, so don’t you dare show your face here again.” I said and clicked the phone shut. I sighed and knew that conversation would come and bite me in the ass later. I began walking back to the green room when I saw Alan standing there.

**

I figured, yeah, why not, so I had kissed him. Clearly that hadn’t helped anything. I mean if he really thought I was going for Aaron over him, he was insane. I grabbed my phone and dialed the all to familiar number.

“Hey, mate, we’re not sharing our liquor this time, we don’t want to get in trouble.” The voice immediately told me.

“Wow, okay, hi, Danny.” I laughed and he just chuckled.

“Hey, what’s up?”

“Well actually I’m-

“Are you having problems with your princess?” He immediately asked me.

“How did you know?”

“I know everything. I could be your ginger princess, forget about Alan.” He said.

“Shut up, Danny, I have a legitimate problem.”

“Alright, shoot.”

“I think he assumes I like Aaron.”

“Play it up, I mean he did the same with Justin, just… just know your limits, Austin.”

“Yeah, you’re right, thanks Danny.” I wouldn’t go to far, I’d never want that, but I’d make Alan rue the day he shoved Justin and his love in my face.
