Chapter Twenty Four: Derek

I wish it was me instead of her. Watching her die was torture. She was all I had and she was the love of my life. And I lost her. I held her in my arms as she died. I had to spend the whole night, looking at her dead body. Alone. Everyone else ran. I don't blame them, because I would have to.

Seeing Axel and Mandy walking my way gave me some kind of relief. But it didn't take away the anger and hurt I felt from losing the love of life, I will never be the same. All I want is to end the Regime, not just to find the people that they have taken from us but also readme to Lily.

"I'm sorry we left you and I'm sorry for your loss," Mandy says to me, not very helpful. But I'll give her props for trying.

"It's fine, let's just focus on killing these sons of bitches" I say to her. I've never cursed in my life, and honestly, it feels good.

"I like the attitude Derek," Axel says to me. All of a sudden I hear crying.

"Wait, do you hear that. Someone is crying" Mandy says. Then she and Axel take off running, and I run after them.

"Oh my god, help" I hear someone scream. And when I get close enough I can see Amelia crying on the ground, Eva holding her and Louis and Harris over a body and I'm guessing it's Andrew. Mandy gets closer and then she throws up, I get closer and oh god, Andrew's bone is popping out of his skin and he is unconscious. He definitely took a beating. I run over because this is where my powers come in

"Move, I'll fix him" I yell as I get closer, I bend down, I shit. I almost throw up too, but I don't. I bend down over him and put my hands over his bone. I feel everyone looking at me and I'm getting nervous but I still continue.

"Bitty boppy boo, his shoulder is brand new," harris says and as he does Andrew almost jumps awake and looks around super confused. Then Amila runs to her and throws herself on him.

"Wait what happened?" Andrew asked.

"You don't remember? Well, your arm broke and Derek fixed it" Axel says to him. We are all back together. Well most of us at least. It takes everyone a minute to realize that Lily is missing.

"Wait where is lily?" Amlia ask

"Dead," I said. I didn't bother to sugar code it. It won't bring her back. And I don't want any more questions.

"Oh, I'm sorry Derek," Andrew says. I don't want to hear sorry or anything. It won't make anything different.
