- Two Weeks Later -
Sitting behind my large book I watch as Chekov rolls his dice, tossing them he bites his lip and crossed his fingers. A natural 1. Critical failure. Nodding to myself flicking the pages of my monster manual I made, smirking behind the book. Everyone looks scared once they see me smirk, knowing nothing good is going to happen. Finding the right page I look up at him. I'm about to wreck this man's whole campaign.
"Oof. Alright.. As Pavlov kneels down in front of the chest beginning to pick the lock, the chest opens with surprising ease. The heavy lock hanging loosely on the metal latch. Swaying side to side.. he opens the chest further, thinking he sees something gleaming inside.. leaning his body inside to get a better look at the possible loot. Holding up his torch he sees... rolls a D20 please, add your perception modifier."
Chekov gulps and rolls the dice. "Nineteen." He looks to me with hope in his eyes.
Good he's not blind a 19.. "Pavlov sees rows of razor sharp teeth glistening with shimmering saliva, the fleshy insides wiggle and coil.. the lid snaps down hard biting him. Pavlov takes.." I roll my dice. "2 D4 piercing damage, everyone roll for initiative." Grabbing my dice rolling it around in my hand, tossing it down I sigh seeing the mimic get a 2.
Everyone quickly grabs and rolls their dice. Lucky for them the monster goes last in the initiative roll. Scotty it's your turn, what would you like to do?" J say with a smile to the man who's excited.
"I take me hammer and clobber tha bastard!" Scotty makes a motion of swinging a hammer down. Giving him a nod I gesture for him to roll, Scotty rolls and curses loudly. Getting an 8. Chuckling softly I roll my own dice. "You miss and hit Pavlov straight in the head. I'll be nice. Take 1d4 bludgeoning damage Chekov." Chekov signs loudly and types it into his pad, giving Scotty a dirty look.
"Come on Scott.. I'm vounded enough as it is.." Chekov leans his head onto his hand.
"Sorry lad.. Berserker thinkin." Scotty grimaces and sits back in his chair, crossing his arms.
Looking to Sulu who's sitting next to Chekov I gesture for him. "I take my rapier and slice at it." Sulu smiles and rolls his dice, rolling a fucking nat 20... Of course he does..
"Alright then, Songvar lunge's at the mimic kicking it with all his might. The chest howls out in surprise releasing Pavlov from it's wet maw. Swinging your rapier you slice the tip of its tongue clean off. The mimic drops to the ground shrieking in agony-" The door to my quarters opens abruptly, Spock walks inside and stops mid stride. Looking at the table covered in dice and various figurines that we made in the replicator. What's he doing here so early? I quickly look up at the clock I see that it's shift change time. Well fuck, lost track of time.
"Shit guys looks like that's it for this session. Let's pause it here." Everyone nods their heads, giving me a wave as they all depart. Knowing that I will take good care of their miniatures and character sheets. Grabbing my pad I type down what transpired for the session, the turn order and what I was thinking at that moment. To help give the next session a more smooth transition. Spock walks further into the room, the door swishing closed behind the others.
"I apologize if I interrupted.. You were playing a game, yes?" Arching a brow, gazing over the cluttered table with curiosity.
"Yup! Dungeons and Dragons. A roleplaying game from my dimension." Packing up all my things I put them inside a tote and slide it under the bed. Standing back up straight, feeling a wave of nausea hit me like a freight train, shaking it off I sit down on the bed. Spock begins his routine, getting a cup of tea as he sits at his computer beginning to do paperwork.
