Part 27 Shagun
Subhadra was shouting at Sumesh.
"Don't you dare to come in front of me..."
"Maji... trust me... we were there in the Parvathy Nagar until the house got burnt completely. We had not seen anyone coming out of the house. I can't understand how they escaped from the fire."
"Stop giving excuses... they are alive and sitting at my house...."
"Maji, give me one more chance. I will finish their chapter from your life...completely..."
"Shut up... they are in my house... if anything happens to them then Arnav will doubt me..."
"Don't worry Maji... I will do anything only when they come out of your house... and it will seem like an accident..."
"Do it before the marriage..."
"Sure Maji... I will finish it as soon as possible"
"I will come to the temple tomorrow. Come and get half payment."
"Thank you, Maji... let me know if they go anywhere."
"Ok"
Subhadra disconnected the call. She couldn't tolerate Khushi and Garima's presence at RM. She hates them from the core of her heart and they are in front of her eyes... at her home... and she can do nothing. She had never felt helpless like this.
Ratna took breakfast for Khushi and Garima. Arnav saw her going to their room. He stopped her.
"What's this, Mom?"
"Breakfast for Khushi and Garima..."
"Why are you taking it to their room? They are our guests; we should call them to the dining and serve them..." He said seriously.
Subhadra came to the living room, hearing their conversation.
"Dadi is also here... let me ask her..."
Subhadra stopped there and looked at him.
"See Dadi, Mom is taking the breakfast to Khushi's room. Are not they our guests? What will they think about your Royal status? Won't they think low about it?" Arnav touched her ROYAL ego.
"Ratna might have thought that they may feel uneasy to eat with us..." Subhadra tried to tackle the situation.
"Yes, Chotte, Maji is right... Garima and Khushi may feel embarrassed..."
"Mom, she is going to be Raizada Bahu in a week... she has to get practiced to it..." Arnav smiled.
"You are right Chotte..." Ratna patted his back lovingly.
"You go. I will bring them to the dinning." Arnav said.
Ratna nodded ok and left the place. Arnav went to their room and knocked on the door. Khushi opened the door. Arnav was stunned, seeing Khushi who looked stunning with light makeup. Why she applied make-up suddenly? Khushi flicked her finger in front of his face making Arnav jerked. Arnav composed himself.
"Where is MY mother-in-law?" he asked smirking.
As Khushi didn't expect him to address Garima as his Mother-in-law, her eyes popped out.
"Be careful, your eyes are going to fall down..." He teased.
"Amma is in the washroom..."
"Oh... are you alone?"
Khushi looked at him, keeping her hands on her hip, raising her eyebrows.
"I mean, why are you sitting in the room? You can come out and get mingled with us..."
"No thanks..."
"You can't say like this after a week..."
"Why? What if I say?"
"I will be happy if you don't go out of the room... because I will also be in the room..."
"At that time, I won't be in the room..."
"Ohh... don't be over confident..."
"I will think about it later..."
"Ok, now come with me..."
"Where?" She frowned.
"To the dining... mom asked me to call you."
"We will eat here..." She said looking somewhere.
"Why? Are you scared about my Dadi?"
"Who...? Me...? And scared about Subi?"
"Shhhh....Slowly...what if she hears?" he said keeping his index finger on his mouth.
"You are the one who is scared..." She said with attitude.
"Matha...parameshwari... I agree... please keep your mouth shut until the marriage...now, come to the dining..."
Before Khushi said anything, Garima said who just came out of the washroom.
"Arnav?"
"Mom called you to have breakfast..." he said.
Garima looked at Khushi.
"We will eat here..." Khushi said.
"We will come to the dinning..." Garima said to Arnav.
"Amma..."
Garima stopped her by showing her palm. Arnav left the place smirking.
"Why Amma...?"
"How long will you be in the room? This is going to be your home. You have to get mingled with them...then only you can get to know about them and their customs...let's go..."
She left the room and Khushi followed her. They saw Raizadas sitting in the dining. Ratna greeted them.
"Come on Garima... have a seat...Khushi beta, you sit here..." She made Khushi sit in front of Arnav.
Arnav smirked at Khushi who was observing Subhadra.
"We were planning to give Shagun to Khushi today...But the fire accident ruined it..." Ratna said sadly.
"So what mom? You can give her Shagun now also... what say dad?"
"Yeah... we can give it now... Am I right Mom?" He asked Subhadra...
Subhadra was about to deny but stopped as Arnav talked.
"She will also be fine with that Dad... don't you know how curious she was to do my marriage?" Arnav said.
"Is it Mom?" Arvind asked.
Subhadra nodded yes without any option.
"I have chosen a few jewelry sets to Khushi... Khushi beta, get ready to get the Shagun..."
Khushi smiled at her.
"Garimaji, wait here with Khushi... Ratna will bring the Shagun..." Arvind said.
Garima nodded ok. After having breakfast, she waited with Khushi. Ratna brought the gifts. Arnav gestured her to give it to Subhadra. Ratna gulped down at him. Arnav came to her and got the gifts from her hand. He extended it to Subhadra.
"Give it to Khushi, Dadi..." Arnav requested her.
"Wow... Chotte, I'm so proud to see you so respectful towards my mother. I'm glad to have you as my son." Arvind praised him.
Subhadra suffocated hearing that. Ratna made Khushi sit on the couch. Subhadra gave the gifts to Khushi and kept a vermillion on her forehead.
At the same time, they heard,
"Subhadra..."
Subhadra turned around and saw her Royal friend Kamini standing at the door step fuming.
"Kamini aunty, please come..." Arvind greeted her.
Subhadra was suffocating to stand before Kamini who was glaring at her. She doesn't know how to console her whereas Arnav smiled inwardly. He was the one who sent a message from Subhadra's mobile to Kamini to visit RM.
