Part 2 I'm Engaged
Arvind was pacing in his room restlessly. He didn't expect Arnav would behave this way. He knew Arnav was highly dissatisfied with the decision of Subhadra. He thought Arnav will be happy about returning back to India and forgot the previous happenings. He didn't know how to handle Arnav further. If he is sneering like this, how would he obey his mother's order and fulfill her wish? What if he has not forgotten Chutki yet as Ratna said? What if he will adamant to keep his promise? Arvind's head spilled. He sat on the bed, holding his head. He was feared the evening party. He wanted to talk to Ratna. She is the only person who has the power to control Arnav. But Ratna refused to come to their room. She almost stayed with Arnav because she knew what Arvind is up to.
Evening
RM looked like a five-star hotel with high-class people. Subhadra roamed around the party hall with pride. Her smile broadened depends upon the wealth of people. She greeted her Royal friend Kamini with a warm hug who is the owner of Oxygen Groups of Hospitals. She looked utterly swelled-headed woman.
"Where is your grandson?" Kamini asked with disinterest.
"He will be here anytime," Subhadra said.
"Hope he will be looking good. Or else I can't even open my mouth in front of my granddaughter."
"Your granddaughter will faint, seeing Arnav." She uttered those words pridefully.
The hall went into pin-drop silence when Arvind took the mike and welcomed the guests.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I welcome you all to this amazing get-together. Here... my son Arnav Singh Raizada...."
All the eyes turned towards the stairs where Arnav was standing at the steps with his mother. He looked damn hot and handsome in the Grey Coat-suit. Arnav circled her hand by his and started descending stairs. All the eyes got stuck on the most handsome guy in front of them. Kamini was looking at Arnav with a rooted gaze. A satisfactory smile crept on her face as she can dare to talk to her granddaughter.
Arvind and Ratna introduced him to their circle people. Arnav greeted everyone without a smile on his face. Subhadra beckoned Arvind and he brought Arnav to her. She was sitting with Kamini and another friend Vimla.
"She is my friend, Kamini, owner of Oxygen Groups of Hospital."
Arnav nodded his head gently.
"She is Vimla, owner of a tea company in Assam."
Arnav gave her the same response.
"So Arnav is back. When is the marriage?" Vimla asked casually and Subadra became curious as she wanted to know Arnav's perception. Kamini also was excited to hear his stance as well as his VOICE.
"Shall I search for a girl for Arnav? There are many eligible girls in our family. If you say "yes" then I will ask them to approach you."
She smiled at Arnav who was observing his mother's face.
"What say Arnav? Shall I proceed?"
Ratna looked at Arvind and then Arnav.
Subhadra was expecting a YES from Arnav but his reply shook her.
"No need.... I'm already engaged. Didn't my Dadi tell you that?"
Though his voice sounded damn captivating his reply literally shook Kamini.
Subadra's face became pale whereas Ratna had a tough time to hide her joy. She wanted to hug her son who didn't even hesitate to say his stance.
Vimla was dumbfounded and also was Kamini. Is Arnav engaged...! How? When? Why? She looked at Subhadra questioningly. How could she ask her granddaughter's hand, hiding such a truth? Subhadra didn't know how to handle the situation.
"What do you mean? We don't know that you are engaged..... Subhadra has not told us anything regarding this" Kamini asked.
"She has not told you it's not my problem," Arnav said without expression.
"Who is that girl? Is she one of the multimillionaires of India?" Kamini wanted to know who the girl is.
"Nope... she is my Dada's accountant's daughter"
Subhadra felt like her family's pride was flying away. She didn't expect Arnav has not forgotten the girl which made Subadra shocked, Arvind stunned and Ratna elated.
Subhadra couldn't face her friend who is a complete luggage of arrogance. Her good time, Arnav was called by Ratna's friend. He left the place.
"What's all this Subha? Is Arnav engaged?"
"No... it's pure rubbish."
"What do you mean?"
"It was my husband who is the cause of the problem..."
Subhadra told her old story.
"That's all?" Kamini asked.
Subhadra nodded yes.
"But Arnav seems serious about it?"
"I will take care of it. You just stay by my side."
"Ok... I can do whatever you ask for."
"Thank you, so much. I don't want that servant's daughter to become Raizada Bahu. That's all. Don't you know me?"
"Yeah... we should not let low-class people take seats equal to us." Kamini sneered.
"I will never let it happen."
"Until you finish the issue, I won't tell Roshni about Arnav. I can't disappoint her."
"Everything will be alright. Soon, Roshni will be here as my Bahu." Subhadra promised.
Kamini nodded yes.
Arnav had not seen at the party after that. He left the place without anyone's knowledge. Taking a car, he headed towards Chutki's home. Delhi changed a lot in the ten years, he thought. But the name of the area has not changed...Laxmi Nagar. He reached the area finally. To his disappointment, he saw someone in Chutki's house. The lady asked him,
"What can I do for you?"
"Could I meet, Chutki?" He asked.
"I'm sorry, no one is Chutki here."
"They were here ten years ago."
"We came here only two years ago. We know nothing about her."
Arnav didn't know what to do. He came here only one time... with his grandfather... for Shashi's funeral. He was just twelve years old at that time. Where did they go? Why did they go? Why his family let them go? They should know about Chutki's whereabouts. They have to answer him. He rode the car to get the answer from his family members.
