[A/N - Yup, the chapter title is She's Not Afraid. But anyhow, for all of you that liked SNA, here's the first chapter!
Sorry if it's awful, but I might go back and edit it later :)
xxx]
Dedicated to @TrueFaith because he helped me come up with this amazing chapter and we're going to collab on our Liam Payne fanfic 'Everything About Her'.
Go check out his stories!!
PS: I had honestly no idea what I was writing about in this chapter, but I hope it was interesting enough.

"I'm proud of you, babe." Niall told me.
"Thank you." I beamed as he pulled me into a hug outside the dark, concrete building.
I looked around; it was summer time, yet this place seemed constantly trapped in the winter season -cold, dark, unwelcoming- and so, I was glad to have Niall here to keep me sane.
"Hi...Dad." I looked at the bald man through a glass sheet separating the two of us.
He frowned at me and I sniffled.
Well, this was pleasant; I groaned internally.
Dad looked around at the security guards and then gave me a smile.
His crooked teeth looked scary, encased by beer stained gums and the awful face I'd grown accustomed to.
"Can I tell you a secret?" Dad asked, and I was completely taken aback.
"Uh...sure?" I replied and Dad leaned closer to the glass, his foul breath leaving a mark.
"I've changed." He said, and I raised my eyebrow.
"What do you mean? You abused me for half of my life, and now you think you've changed?" I scowled, but was careful not to raise my voice, or this would anger him.
Wait...why do I care about him?
I've finally made a life of my own, and I needn't have to worry about what he thought.
Instead, he laughed.
He laughed!
"For these few months, I realised how awful I've been to you." He began, and I relaxed a little.
He wasn't mad.
"Of course, you're still my little Liv." He put on a baby voice, and by now I was more repulsed, and intrigued, by the sudden change in him.
Could I trust him, or is this what prison sentences did to you?
Made you crave any human interaction and force you to evaluate your problems?
"You always made me feel small." I stated, and his face fell.
"That's because you never learned your lesson." He pounded his fists onto the table.
The security guards grabbed him by the arms and hauled him out the room as he screamed 3 words.
'Stupid little girl.'
**Now**
"He's completely crazy," I laughed nervously, and brought my straight blonde hair to rest on either shoulder.
Niall kissed my forehead and laced his fingers in mine.
"Come on, I've got something special to show you. Off everyone."
