EPILOGUE
i was born ready

---

"WAS THIS REALLY THE END?" Felicity asked herself as she went to the back of her closet. She spotted a dark blue gown and a cap and she smiled sadly, taking it out of the place that it has been for the duration of her senior year. It was so hard for her to believe that two years ago - two years ago - she was adopted by the best man in the entire world; the man that saved her life. Two years ago, she met Joey Trotta, the best boyfriend that she could ever dreamed of having. Two years ago, she met Billy Tepper, the most amazing best friend opposite her gender. Two years ago was the greatest time of her life, and now it was all going to end. Felicity had a brief realization that she was never going to get those memories back.

She stripped her clothing off with her hair flowing down her back. Glancing over at her shoulder that had clear scars from bullets that hit her and her loving boyfriend, her mind went back to that moment, oh, how fatal it was. She shook the memory and slipped the gown over her head and down her body, flattening it down as she did so. This final day was going to be perfect, so she had to be perfect.

A few weeks ago, Felicity had been notified that she got a scholarship for Vanderbilt University, striving in getting a major for education. Becoming a teacher for younger students had been something that she wanted to pursue; since she really never got the chance to have a normal childhood, Felicity simply wanted to experience it, although from an adult standpoint.

Joey and Billy had decided to go to a free public college that was near Regis, but they and Felicity would keep in touch. Snuffy went with them, but he wasn't exactly doing it for anything specific; it's not like he had anything that was all exciting for him at home and besides that, the college was free. Yogurt was accepted into MIT for engineering and would someday hope to create more than just a model airplane. Ricardo and Hank went off to do whatever; Felicity wasn't exactly sure and she never really asked them, but as long as they were safe then it was ok.

Felicity and Margaret had had many calls over the phone, but as sad as it was, they slowly and indefinitely drifted apart completely. Maybe it was the fact that Margaret finally gotten adopted, but they both knew that they did not and would not have friends with such a close relationship later on. As long as they live, they will never ever forget the times they had with each other.

As she placed the cap that matched her rubbery blue gown on her head, there was a small knock on the door. She smiled, knowing exactly who it was. Whilst opening it, Joey Trotta came inside and encased the girl who he was very happy to call his girlfriend in a tight embrace. Confused, she hugged back. "What's this for?" she questioned softly.

Joey lent down with his face close to her ear; even after two years the action still gave her butterflies. "We did it, Princess," he muttered soothingly, bringing his lips to Felicity's. They shared a short but powerful kiss that they certainly would never get bored of before they placed their foreheads against each other. Their breathing was the only sound that was made in that room that held so many memories and soon, there would be no sound, for no students would be in the room.

They pressed their lips together once more, but interrupted by another knock at the door. Sheepishly, they glanced over and saw that Billy was standing on the rim with a cheeky smile covering his face. "Come on, you two crazy lovebirds, it's time!" he informed. Ever since they got together, Billy's teasing had been nonstop.

"Oh hush, Billy," Felicity giggled as she followed him out of her room for what may be the very last time. They were met with the usual group and they began to make their way outside, the girl and her boyfriend trailing behind as they usually did just to converse.

Stepping out into the courtyard, Felicity took a shaky breath and looked back at the school. Joey noticed this and gave his girlfriend's hand a reassuring squeeze. "You ready, Princess?" he questioned. Felicity propped a small smile and nodded back.

"I was born ready."

What Felicity did for Joey all those years ago was nothing short of audacious, and those boundaries that were built between them full of feud and hatred were knocked down indefinitely. It's crazy how things change in the blink of an eye, but fortunately in their case, it was for the better.
