CHAPTER TEN
bandages and happiness

---

"OH MY GOD!!"

Joey stopped and looked towards the scream. Quickly standing up, he ran to the door and watched as a girl's head popped up from the bed in the hallway before him.

"Where am I, where am I??" the girl exclaimed.

"You're in the hospital," Judith replied with quickness, "I need you to breathe now, alright? Breathe for me, can you do that?" The girl's breath began to steady as her bed moved closer and closer to Joey's room. There was no way, he thought, she was dead just a few minutes ago.

The nurses did blood checks on the girl to the point where she was finally calmed down. After what seemed like hours of checking, the two were left alone, but this time, they were both alive.

Joey cleared his throat, gaining the girl's attention. "Felicity I-"

"-Joey I know," Felicity interrupted, "I heard everything."

"You... what?"

Felicity chuckled. "Joey I heard everything you said to me... I forgive you."

His face went into a panic. "Oh my god Felicity you don't have to forgive me after I literally almost killed you!"

"Well, Joey, it's the least I could do."

All Joey wanted to do in that moment was give her the biggest hug that he could muster, but that thought was short lived once there was a small knock on the door. There showed Felicity's step-father out of breath but full of relief that his new daughter and friend were alive. "I'm alive, Mister," she smiled, a tear of happiness dripping down her cheek.

The man chuckled and wiped another tear with his thumb. "I know," he responded before making his way to Joey. "It's good to have you both back." They nodded in unison.

After a few moments of catching up, Dean Parker announced that he had to get back to the school. Touched that he was taking time out of his day to see her, Felicity let him go back without disagreement. Soon, there was yet another knock at the door, and there was a girl who was recognizable at the eyes of Felicity. A smile spread upon her face as she motioned her to come forward. Her face was solemn and serious, knowing that she felt it was mainly her fault why Felicity was in this current position. "Hi, how are you?"

"I'm hanging in there." She gave a coy smile. "How are you, Margaret?"

"I couldn't be better." They looked at one another before Margaret let out a small sigh. "Felicity, this is all my fault," she admitted, "And you too... you must be Joey." He nodded. Margaret sighed again before grabbing her hands. "City, I'm the reason why you're in a hospital bed right now."
