"I'm getting married," Tanjiro's voice stood proud, but Yushiro and I had unreadable expressions on our faces.

Yushiro was the first to speak, "Married? Aren't you like, six?"

"That's mean! Shut it!" I spat, slapping him hard on the arm after he made the rude comment.

Tanjiro let out a laugh before continuing, "It's alright, I'm young but it's nothing new to get married at my age. If anything, I'm a little late to this entire scene. I'm aware that you cannot be in the sun, obviously... But I'm determined to find a way to have you come anyways! Inosuke and Zenitsu want to meet you, they're ecstatic!"

That's a lie, but Tanjiro didn't care about that. Inosuke was livid, he worked so hard to kill all the demons and me and Yushiro are just wandering around free? Not okay! Zenitsu on the other hand, begged Tanjiro not to invite them, they were demons! His number one phobia!

"I'm flattered you invited us, but we're not interested. Try to send me some cake though!" Despite my cheery disposition everyone in the room seemed really off putting, it was kind of funny in all honesty.

"What, why not?" The boy had a hurt look in his eyes, but at this point we were immune to it at this point.

I put a smile on my face, "The day of your marriage is a very special day, we don't want to ruin that with our special needs. You have my blessing, I hope the weather is in your favor."

Yushiro looked at me with shock in his eyes, as if he'd seen some kind of ghost. It was understandable, I was never someone to turn down an invitation at all. I had all the time in the world, but I think I was kind of tired of making an effort to socialize with people. And to be frank, I don't have the energy to go to a ceremony while being paranoid about being burned to a crisp. Too risky. Tanjiro stuck his lip out in a small pout, I couldn't help but laugh a little.

"I'm sorry, but I wouldn't mind a letter every now and then. It's nice to see you again." I added, trying to cheer him up.

"Sure, whatever," Yushiro commented under his breath, his face seemed to relax more. It was obvious he didn't want to go.

After a short few conversations, I scrambled what I could use to make a meal for Tanjiro- as a good host. As demons we didn't eat the food the boy did, so I had to do some serious digging for anything edible. I settled on ochazuke with cooked ham put over the top of it. It was plain and stupid, but I had insisted he had stayed until the sun had set to recover from the long journey and so I could rent him a car to ride home.

"Cars are those vehicles with four wheels right? They're like small trains," He commented, his mouth stuffed with meat and rice.

"Yes, I'll make sure to get you one of those nicer ones too since they can get uncomfortable after a while. I'm sorry you can only ride a partial way there," I smiled, the shoji doors from outside were cracked letting fresh air into the home.
