It's been three months since I've last been to the Butterfly Estate. Three months since Giyuu had confessed to me, six months since I've seen a familiar human face. Mid summer was hot and harsh on the people around us, the nights were undoubtedly short making it hard for Yushiro and I to move around. The sun was too intense for us to leave during the day even with an umbrella.

Rains were uncommon during this harsh weather, but luckily enough the rainy seasons came early this year. The days were long still, but the thick clouds prevented the sun from pouring through. The rainy season was my favorite, rain is fun to paint and I can enjoy it during the day and outside. However, monsoon season also meant strong winds. This had been the first day that wasn't windy in weeks, I intended to enjoy it.

"I'm going to go out on a walk while the wind has died down, would you like to join me?" I opened the door to reveal Yushiro sitting on the floor surrounded by dark colored canvases, which were decorated by his beloved Lady Tamayo.

"You're painting while you're out?" Yushiro made a gesture to the small cream colored canvas bag I was carrying. As he had suggested it was filled with a small sketchbook and goauche paints.

"Yes, there's a park in the next town over. The lake there is pretty and the gardens are wonderful, I would like to paint them." I unconsciously made my tone more formal.

"What's with the sudden dignified talk? I'm not some type of deity," He had stated matter of factly. "And the next town over isn't a small walk, it's a two kilometer walk."

"So you're not going?" I asked.

"No! I'm not going to get my shoes all muddy! Gross!" He let out a nasty sounding, "Bleh!"

"Okay, I'm off then~!" I sang to him before sliding the door shut and heading into the direction of the entryway and putting on a short pair of kimono sandals.

I had grabbed a periwinkle umbrella that matched my lavender hakama pants and headed outside. I made sure to check multiple times throughout the day that the clouds were thick enough for me to walk in without trouble, since the umbrella I'm taking out is on the thinner side. It was mainly for keeping the rain off me, but the rain is too heavy and the clouds too dark for it all to abruptly stop. Finally making my way outside, I opened my umbrella and walked off.

Much to my luck the path I planned on taking wasn't as riddled with mud as I thought it would be, "What a relief," I sighed softly to myself.

I can't help but admit, I am a little sad that Yushiro decided not to come. Not sure why entirely he was so reluctant to go with me. I know he hated the rain because he hated the mud.

There was a time, maybe a good 120 years ago when Yushiro and I were new demons. It was raining for what's felt like forever, and Tamayo needed medicine to care for a patient that was in critical condition. I was still sickly so I couldn't move around much and Yushiro's sense of direction was nonexistent and Tamayo hadn't trusted his abilities quite yet. And since the two of us were unavailable for travel Tamayo had to get the medicine herself, it was raining and the clouds were thick so an issue wasn't present. She left with a silk cream kimono and a dark colored umbrella. I remember Yushiro saying something about her being, "God-sent."
