Chapter 54

In 3 more hours I reached 10 cm, which means it's time for pushing. "It's time!" I say to Aaron excited
"Yes, it is" he says excited too. He holds my hand and we wait for my next contraction.
"Jessie, you're gonna push and I'm gonna count. When I reach ten you're gonna stop, ok?" the doctor says
"Yes" I say.
"Ok, here we go. Start pushing" she says and I do.

I was pushing everytime I had a contraction for about 20 minutes. The mood in the room was very light and happy with laughs and even jokes from the nurses which actually helped me a lot. "I think that we are gonna have a baby in the next push" the doctor says
"Yay!" I say exhausted and they laugh.
"Push" she says and I do "One two three four five... And here she is" she says and lays the baby on my chest "6:25 am"
"Hi baby!" I say crying as they clean her and rub her skin to increase blood flow and get pinker. In a few seconds she started crying and I started crying even more. I look at Aaron and I don't think I've ever seen him smile so much. He also had tears in his eyes.
"I love you" he says and kisses my head
"I love you too" I say. He kneels down next to me and strokes her head gently.
"You did it" he says and looks at me "You are amazing" he continues and kisses me.

"Want to do the honours dad?" the nurse asks giving Aaron the scissors. He takes them and cuts it.
"How did I do?" he asks
"Great. Congratulations mom and dad" the nurse says. "Do you have a name picked out?" she asks
"Yes. Melissa Dove" Aaron says
"... Hotchner" I complete.
"I thought that we were gonna do Grey Hotchner" he says to me
"Well... I thought that Grey Hotchner would be a long last name in case she wanted to add doctor or agent to it in the future" I say and he smiles. A couple of minutes later they took her to the side to weight her, measure her etc. Aaron was standing above her and he couldn't stop looking at her which was the cutest thing I've ever seen.

When the tests to her were done, my doctor was also done stitching me up etc. The nurse lays her carefully in Aaron's arms and he walks to me. He sits right next to me and kisses me. With more help of the amazing midwifes, I fed our babygirl and after that she just fell asleep on my chest, skin to skin.

About an hour later, I was still a bit high from the painkillers they gave me due to the pain and swelling that was happening down there. "Hey, did you see my belly now?" I ask Aaron
"No, why?" he asks
"It's all squishy" I say as I stretch my skin with my fingers and he laughs "Like jello. There are a few stretch marks though" I say
"It's amazing" he says laughing "I love it. Especially the stretch marks" he says running his hands over my belly.
"Well... That makes one of us--" I say but he interrupts me
"Hey, no. That belly and that body grown that little human you're holding. Isn't that a good enough reason to love it?" he asks
"You are the best and most precious man that ever walked on earth, do you know that?" I ask
"Ok, that's the drugs talking now" he says
"I love you" I say
"I love you too" he says and kisses me.

That moment he gets a text and leaves for a couple of minutes. "Someone is here to meet his sister..." he says as he comes back inside with Jack.
"Hey!" I say as I see him. He comes to me and looks at his baby sister.
"Oh my God, she is so little and so cute" he says causing me to smile even more
"You want to hold her?" I ask
"Yeah" he says. He sits next to me on the bed and I put a pillow on his lap to support his arms. I carefully place her on him putting some extra support from under.
"I asked David to bring him a few minutes ago" Aaron says
"And where is he?" I ask
"He is going to come with the others a little later" he says and I nod.

"I know that it's 8 in the morning but I've just been through more than 15 hours of labor so I could really use some chicken nuggets and fries right now" I say
"Ok, got it. Jack, are you hungry?" Aaron asks
"Yes" he says
"Ok, I'll go get you food and I'll be right back. Will you be ok?" he asks
"We will be fine. And I would like to add a shaken iced peach green tea to my order please" I say nicely
"Ok" he says
"And get some extra chicken nuggets because I've been without food for about 13 hours" I say
"I'm on my way" he says and kisses me before he leaves.

"Hey, Jack. You know that an addition to the family is not a replacement. It doesn't mean that you're gonna be left out alone now. It doesn't mean I'm gonna love you any less now. Yes, it might take all of us sometime to adjust but we will make it back to normal" I say
"Ok" he says and I smile. Melissa started to wake up and stretch so I took her back to me and I put her on my chest again before she started crying.

A few minutes later, there was a knock on the door. It opens and the first person I saw was Penelope "Hi! I hope you're up for some company" she says
"Oh yes" I say and she opens the door further for Derek, Spencer, JJ and Dave to walk in.
"Oh my God, you did not just give birth" Morgan says
"I clearly did" I say looking down at Melissa
"Oh my God, she is so cute" Penelope says sitting on the chair next to me
"Wanna hold her?" I ask
"Yes, I do" she says and I hand the baby to her carefully. "Oh look at her" she says as she starts to walk around with her
"Be careful, she ate about 15 minutes ago" I say
"I know" she says and I chuckle.

"Congratulations kid" Dave says and hugs me
"Thank you" I say
"She's is amazing" JJ says as she looks at her from Penelope's arms "Where's... sugar daddy?" she asks and I chuckle
"I send him to get food" I say
"You should eat foods that have protein such as milk, cheese, yogurt, meat, fish and beans. Protein rich foods are important to help you recover from childbirth and keep your body strong" Spenser says
"Thank you doctor but I want chicken nuggets and fries" I say
"And you deserve them" JJ says.

The door opens again and Aaron comes in. "Hey!" he says as he sees the crowd
"Here he is" Dave says as he hugs him "Congratulations" he says
"Thank you" Aaron says
"My food please?" I ask because I could already smell it
"Yes" he says rushing to me
"Yay!" I say and I kiss him before I start eating. "Where is my tea?" I ask
"It's here" he says placing in front of me
"Thank you" I say and I kiss him again.
