"V-Violet?" Colby asked as he dropped his bag and ran to me, collecting me in his arms. "Surprise." I said as he held me tightly and rocked me back and forth.

"Holy shit, what are you doing here?!" He exclaimed and pulled away so he could look into my eyes. I smiled and opened my mouth to answer but was interrupted by someone behind him cleared their throat.

When I turned to look at who it was I saw a tall brunette girl who had her arms crossed.

"Who's this?" The brunette asked from the doorway. "Oh! Lucy..this is Violet." He said as I took in the girls features.

She had long brown hair and deep green eyes with a light peppering of freckles on her cheeks. She looked kinda like me.

Colby definitely had a type.

"I thought Violet lived in Ohio." Lucy said as she stared me down. "Violet did. Until she came back to LA." I said and smiled blankly at her.

"Wait...are you living here again?" Colby asked as I nodded. "I wanted to surprise you." I said and finally ripped my eyes from Lucy.

Colby was looking at me with so much love that I gasped slightly, I got lost in his eyes for a second before Lucy cleared her throat again.

I felt my heart sink in my chest that he was with her and that he didn't tell me about it.

I caught him.

Again.

"Well...this is sufficiently awkward so I'm just gonna go." I said then started for the door. "Vi-" Colby started as I shook my head. "It's cool. I'm gonna go." I said then gave him a reassuring smile.

I tried to keep myself together as I made my way down the stairs. I went to grab my keys then realized Ki had them. "Fuck." I groaned then pulled my phone out.

"Violet! How'd it go!?" Ki answered as I walked outside. "Uh...can you come pick me up?" I asked and picked at the hem of my shirt.

"What the hell happened?! I'm gonna kill him. I swear to god, V. I'm gonna kill him." She said as I laughed slightly. "Relax. Just please come get me." I breathed out then sat on the porch.

"I'm on my way. You're telling me what happened though." She said as I nodded. "That's fine." I breathed out then hung up.

I was trying to not get upset again but there was a part of me that was questioning being here again.

Why would he be here with Lucy after everything that has happened with us? He was excited to see me though so I was just confused.

When Ki got to the house she got out of the car and started to storm inside. "Ki! Stop it!" I yelled and grabbed her arm pulling her back. "What did that dumbass do now?" She asked then looked back at me.

"He came home with Lucy." I said as her face hardened. "Is he fucking serious?! I'm going to KILL him!" She yelled as I laughed. "Stop it. Let's just go." I said then pulled her towards the car.

"Are you okay?" Ki asked as we got in the car. "I guess I'm just confused." I said with a sigh. "He looked so happy to see me but like...I feel like I caught him in the act of cheating again. That sounds dumb though because we aren't even really technically back together." I said then groaned from the frustration that was boiling inside of me.

"Maybe not but he shouldn't be hanging around the dumpster fire that is Lucy." Ki said as I laughed. "What did she even do to you?" I asked as she drove us to her place.

"She's just annoying and clingy and most importantly she's not you." Ki explained as I sighed. "She looks just like me though." I said as she barked a laugh.

"Please. She's the off brand version of you. Colbs really thought he was doing something by seeing her." Ki said with a laugh.

"I don't know what he was thinking. I'm irreplaceable." I said with a smirk. "Damn right." Ki said then winked at me.

When we got to Ki's apartment we got situated in the living room. I found myself starting to get a little upset again as I picked at my nails.

"Babes, talk to me." Ki said as I shook my head. "I'm fine." I said as a text message came through.

Colby: I know that looked bad, but please let me explain.

I shook my head then locked my phone and put it on the couch next to me. I didn't want to deal with that right now. I had to keep reminding myself that we weren't together.

He could do whatever he wanted.

"Let's get food or something." I said then stood up, grabbing my phone from the couch. "Okay, but afterwards we're going to kick Colby's ass." She said and grabbed her bag.

"He didn't do anything wrong, Ki." I said and put my phone in my pocket. "What do you mean? You drove across the country to surprise him and he surprised you by bringing another girl home." She said as I sighed.

"Yeah, it sucks but we aren't together. If he wants to sleep with Lucy or date her, I can't be mad about that." I said but felt my heart ache at the idea of it. "I also didn't come back for him. I came back for all of you. If he doesn't want to be with me then he doesn't have to be." I said as we got in the car.

"You don't mean that. You know you love him." Ki said as I chewed my lip. "Yeah but it doesn't matter. I can't force him to leave the person he chose while I was away." I said as she rolled her eyes.

"Why are you so understanding? Like if I were you I would be pulling that bitch's hair out of her head." She said as I laughed. "It's not her fault that I left Colby and it's not her fault that he met her and chose to spend time with her." I said with a shrug.

"I guess but doesn't it piss you off?" Ki asked as we drove to in n out. "No. It makes me a little upset but I can't be mad about it." I said then looked down at my lap.

I think Ki got the hint that I didn't want to talk about it anymore because he just turned the music up and drove.

I didn't want to be upset about the situation because it wasn't a big deal but my heart felt like it had been put through a meat grinder again.

We ordered our food then got back to Ki's place. "I missed this." I said and pointed to the messy burger that was in my hands. "Wow that's sexy." Ki said with a laugh as I rolled my eyes.

"Shut the fuck up." I said then flipped him off. "I invited the girls over, I hope you don't mind." Ki said as I shook my head. "No, I'm excited to see them!" I said and bounced up and down as someone knocked on the door.

"Perfect, because they're here." She said then skipped over to the door. "Hey, V!" Tara said as she and Kat came into the room. "Hey!" I said and opened my arms for a hug.

"How was the surprise?" Kat asked as she plopped on the couch next to me. "A massive fail, but it's okay." I said with a laugh. "Why was it a fail?" Tara asked.

"He came home...with Lucy." I said as Kat groaned. "I'm so sick of her!" She said as I scrunched my brow. "I know why Ki hates her but why do you?" I asked and pulled my knees to my chest.

"I think she's controlling..just a little bit..like she makes Colby hang out with her ALL the time. Whenever we would all have plans she would just insert herself into them." Kat said as Tara pointed to her.

"Then she gets upset when we don't connect with her!" Tara said as I nodded. "Yeah, she only ever wants to talk about herself too. It's just annoying, I don't even know where Colby found her." Kat said as Ki snorted. "The streets." She said as we all burst into laughter.

We spent the rest of the night hanging out. The girls were able to take my mind off of everything. I didn't know what was going to happen when I got back to the house but I did know that I would always have my girls behind me.

I was forever grateful for that.
