"Take a shot with me!" Ki said as she pulled me through the crowd. "I don't want to get too drunk, I'm still recovering from the other night!" I said and let her drag me towards the bar.

"Come on, V! It's Colby's birthday!" She said then poured a shot of tequila for both of us. "Yeah exactly, I have to be sober enough to make sure he's okay." I said with a laugh. "Shhhh, no more nonsense. Take the shot." Ki cooed then forced the shot into my hand.

I just shook my head and breathed a laugh as I tapped the glass to the table and brought it to my lips.

I felt the familiar burn in my chest as she filled another shot up. "One more." She said with a laugh as Kat came over. "Kat has to take one too." I said and pointed to her as Ki filled another shot glass up.

We tapped the glasses to eachothers then tapped it on the table and took the shot. "Fuck, I hate tequila." I grimaced as I wiped my mouth with my hand.

"It makes you feel goooood though." Ki said and swayed her hips to the music. "Mhmm sure." I said then grabbed a glass of jungle juice and made my way into the living room.

"V! I wanna see your ring!" Devyn exclaimed as she waved her arms towards me. I smiled then walked over to the couch that she and Cassie were sitting on. "Let me see!" She said as I held my left hand up.

"Oh my god it's gorgeous." Cassie said as the alcohol started to hit me. "Thank you." I said with a smile as I looked at the twinkling diamond. "Are you excited?" Devyn asked as I nodded. "Yeah, it's gonna be a while before we actually tie the knot but I'm excited to marry him." I said and looked at the crowd, trying to find Colby.

When my eyes landed on him I could feel my heart do a flip. He smiled widely as one of his friends gave him a hug. I could tell being around everyone was making him so happy.

"Earth to Violet!" Tara said as she shook her hand in front of my face. "Sorry, he's just so damn cute." I said then giggled and took a sip of my drink. "You've got it baaad." Tara said then took my hand. "He's got it worse though, look at that rock!" She exclaimed with a laugh.

"Stop it." I said with a giggle and pulled my hand back as Ki danced over to us. "Come dance with us!" She said and reached her hands down to help Devyn and I up.

We spent the next hour or so dancing together as the alcohol coursed through our veins. I was trying to just stay in a tipsy state rather than getting fully drunk because I wanted to be aware of my surroundings.

I wanted to remember tonight.

I was swaying my hips to the music when I felt someone wrap their arms around my waist from behind. I giggled then turned around to see Colby smiling at me. "Hi, baby girl." He said as I smiled.

"Hi, birthday boy. How drunk are you?" I asked and wrapped my arms around his neck, swaying with him. "Not drunk at all." He slurred then leaned down and kissed my cheek. "Right." I said then took his hand. "I wanna show you your cake." I said then led him towards the kitchen.

In the middle of the counter was the homemade cake Ki and I had made him. "That looks good as hell, V." He said then reached over and took a finger full of frosting and put it in his mouth.

"Tastes good too." He said as I smiled and kissed his cheek. I looked around at the party that was raging around us and sighed, knowing I wouldn't be able to collect everyone to sing Colby happy birthday.

"Let me sing to you." I said then sat him down in the chair next to us. Once he was settled I sat down in his lap then started to sing to him. He looked at me with so much love in his eyes as I quietly sang.
