I woke up a couple hours later, screaming. I had the same nightmare that I always had, which you think I would be used to.

"Fuck." I groaned as Colby stirred in his sleep. Luckily he was a heavy sleeper so he didn't wake up every time I woke up.

I didn't feel like explaining why I had the nightmare.

I laid back as Colby tightened his arms around me. "Don't go." He mumbled in his sleep as my brow scrunched. Was he having a nightmare too?

"Stay." He whispered as I kissed his cheek. "I'm right here, Colby. I'm here." I said as his face softened and a small sigh of relief fell from his lips. I sighed then laid my head on his chest again, listening to his racing heart.

I tried to fall back asleep but couldn't because the guilt and confusion was eating me alive. I heard my phone buzz from the bedside table causing me to lean over and grab it.

Unknown number: meet me at this Starbucks at 10...please.

Attached was a screenshot of the address.

I sighed and shook my head, locking my phone. I didn't know what I was going to do but Daisy obviously had something important to tell me.

Colby was going to be so mad though. He was going to be upset to the point of me not going, which I understood.

I just wanted to know what she wanted to tell me.

I ended up staying up until the sun started rising. I spent most of that time reading and contemplating what I was going to do. I knew for sure that I was going to tell Colby about Daisy showing up here. I just didn't know if I wanted to bring up that she texted me again.

"Good morning." Colby croaked out, pulling me from my thoughts. "Good morning." I said with a smile as I looked up at him.

"How'd you sleep?" He asked as I shrugged. "Had a nightmare, what about you?" I asked as he frowned. "Why didn't you wake me?" He asked as I laughed. "Because you were sleeping and I could handle it myself." I said then sat up.

"Right, I forgot how strong and independent you were for a second." He said as I rolled my eyes and got out of bed.

"I'm offended." I said and stood up, stretching my back out. "Wait really?" Colby asked and looked at me cautiously. "No, dork." I said with a laugh then went to get ready.

I took a shower and brushed my teeth and made my way back out to the bedroom. When I got there Colby was sitting on the bed still, playing on his phone.

"What are you up to today?" I asked and towel dried my hair. "Nothing much, I was thinking we could go to breakfast or something." Colby said and looked up at me as I chewed my lip nervously.

I started thinking about the possibility of meeting with Daisy at 10, maybe Colby would come with me. I had to tell him about her showing up here first, and that scared me.

"What's wrong?" He asked as I turned away from him. "I have to tell you something." I said with a sigh. "Oh no, are you breaking up with me?" He asked as I shook my head and turned to face him.

"What's going on, V? You're scaring me." He said as I looked at him for a second. "Daisy came here yesterday." I said quietly as his face hardened. "What did you say?" He asked as I sighed.

"Daisy came to the house yesterday after you left." I said as he huffed out an angry breath. "Why didn't you tell me?" He asked angrily.

"Woah, calm down. I didn't tell you because you were working. I handled it." I said and crossed my arms, automatically feeling defensive.
