I sat in my room for a couple minutes, collecting my thoughts. I knew I needed to get this over with but I was scared.
I shook my head as I stood up then went and grabbed one of Colby's hoodies, hoping it would show him that I'm not terribly mad at him.
I sighed then left the room so I could go up to Colby's room.
When I got to his room I knocked on the door, feeling my heart race. "Come in." Colby said as I nodded and opened the door.
"Hey." I said as I walked. "Hey, I'm really fucking sorry, V. I was-" He started but was interrupted as I held my hand up. "It's okay, we can talk about it more but I know you're sorry." I said and walked over to the couch where he was sitting.
"No, I need to apologize more. What I said was disgusting and I feel sick that I said it to you." He said as I sighed. "People say mean things when they're angry. I'm not saying it's okay, but I understand why you said it." I said as he frowned slightly.
"I didn't mean it though, V. You have been so strong through all of this and it wasn't fair to throw that at you." He said as I sighed and looked at my hands as I twisted my rings.
"People don't just blurt out things they don't mean, even if it's just a little bit." I said quietly. "V..." Colby said and put his hand over mine. "It's fine." I whispered as he brought his other hand to my chin, pushing it up so I could look at him.
"It's not. It will never be fine, I'm also sorry that I treat you like a child..I don't mean to." He said as I nodded. "I know that you're just worried and that you care about me but it's overbearing sometimes." I explained as he nodded.
"I understand. After everything that happened with Peter I've just been so scared. When you didn't come home I thought I would never see you again. I never want to feel like that again." He said and caressed my cheek gently.
"I know it was scary, that's why I let the babying go on for a while." I explained and put my hand over his which was still on my cheek.
"I know communication is important but I don't have to tell you every single that happens right when it happens. We are a team and obviously are here for eachother but we still have seperate lives, Colby." I said as he nodded.
"I know. I'm alright with that, but when it comes to Daisy and Peter I have to draw the line with that." He said as I sighed. "They don't matter, Colby." I said as he shook my head.
"That's where you're wrong, V. They matter too much. After what they did, they have destroyed the trust I have in humanity." He said and looked into my eyes. "Please work with me on this. I promise I won't be overbearing unless they're involved." He said as I nodded.
"Fine. I guess I should tell you then that I met up with Daisy." I said as he pulled back from me slightly. "When?" He asked as I sighed and pulled my hands from his so I couldn't twist my rings again.
"Just now." I said quietly. "Violet." Colby scolded as I nodded. "I know you're mad but it was fine, she just wanted to talk to me." I said as he shook his head. "You shouldn't have gone alone, V. I get it you were mad at me but that was dangerous." He said as I nodded.
"I know, that's why I called you before." I said quietly. "I didn't want my last conversation with you to be a fight." I said as he frowned. "Oh, V." He said quietly then pulled me into his arms.
"It was fine though. She apologized, but we won't be in contact ever again. I made it very clear that whatever friendship we had is completely over." I said and looked up at him as he grinned and rubbed my back.
"I'm really proud of you." He said quietly as I nodded. "Me too. It actually felt good to forgive her." I said and pulled away from him as he grinned at me.
"I bet. Speaking of forgiving, do you forgive me?" He asked as I laughed. "You're gonna have to do a little more convincing, I think." I said as his eyes filled with hunger. "Say less." He said then the pulled me into his lap with force, kissing my neck as I giggled. He stood up and carried me over to the bed, throwing me onto it.
30 minutes later we were both getting dressed again. "I love make up sex." I said as I pulled my hair into a ponytail. "I do too. Especially make up sex with you, though." Colby said as I laughed and grabbed my phone.
"Whatever, dork. Let's go downstairs, I'm hungry." I said then held my hand out to him. He grinned and took my hand then led the way downstairs.
When we walked into the kitchen, Sam and Corey were talking. "Hey! You guys made up?" Sam asked as Colby chuckled. "You could say that." He said causing me to gasp and smack his arm.
"Don't be bashful, V. It looks like a vampire attacked you." Sam said and pointed to my neck. "Goddamn it Colby!" I groaned and pulled up my phone camera so I could look for myself.
Sure enough there were three hickeys lined up on my neck. "Are we gonna argue again so we can have round two?" Colby asked as I rolled my eyes and turned towards the fridge.
"What are you guys up to?" Colby asked as he walked over to the table. "We're looking up places to adventure at. All of us and Jake." Corey said as I grabbed ingredients to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
"Are we looking for haunted or just abandoned?" Colby asked as I grabbed two slices of bread and started to make myself a sandwich.
"We don't know yet, what do you guys think?" Sam asked as I scrunched my brow and looked up at him. "You want me to come?" I asked as he laughed. "Well yeah." He said in a matter of fact tone.
"Are you sure? I literally ruin every trip we go on." I said with a laugh then cut my sandwich and put it on a plate.
"You do not." Colby said with a laugh as he reached over to take half my sandwich. "Bitch, get your own!" I said and smacked his hand then turned to Sam again. "I think it would be kinda cool to text my abilities since I think I'm an empath." I said as he grinned.
"You'd be up for it?" He asked as Colby got up to make his own sandwich. "Yeah, I mean it might be terrifying but it also sounds like fun." I said with a grin.
"Badass, V." Corey said and held his hand up to give me a high five. "So, we want to do paranormal?" Colby asked as I nodded.
"Yeah, that seems less illegal." I said as Sam nodded. "That is true. Maybe we can film some of it to put on the back burner for when we finish 25x25." Sam suggested as Colby nodded.
"That sounds like a good plan. Are you sure you wanna do this, V?" He asked and came over to sit at the table. "Yeah, I think it will be fun." I said with a smile and reached over to take half of his sandwich.
Before he could stop me I took a bite of him causing him to scoff. "What's wrong with yours?" He asked as I shrugged. "Nothing, I just wanted to make sure there was nothing wrong with yours too." I said then took a bite of my own sandwich.
"You two are disgusting." Corey said as I nodded. "Yeah, maybe a little." I said as Sam pulled up his laptop.
"I guess we should get to researching then, huh?" He asked then started typing stuff in.
We sat there for a while trying to figure out where we were going to go. I had to admit that I was pretty excited to get back into adventuring and ghost hunting.
I was equally nervous though, since something always happens when we go ghost hunting. I attract spirits and although it's cool, it's also terrifying.
I think it would be worth the risk though.
A/N: hey guys! If you have any suggestions as to where you want the group to go, let me know! It can be in cali or anywhere else haha thanks for reading!
