When we got home I immediately went to go take a shower to unwind.
I was still a little shaken up by the vision I had in the hallway. I still couldn't wrap my head around what I saw but I was just happy there was no long term effects from it.
"Hey, babe?" Colby asked as he knocked on the bathroom door. "Yeah?" I asked as I washed my hair. "Ki's here." He said as I breathed a laugh. "Okay, I'll be out in a minute." I said with a sigh.
"Can I come in?" He asked as I nodded. "Yeah, I'm almost done." I said as the door opened. "Are you doing okay, V?" Colby asked quietly as I opened the shower curtain slightly so I could stick my head out.
"Why wouldn't I be okay?" I asked with a small smile. "I don't know, you just seem..off." He said as I shrugged and ducked back into the shower. "I'm fine, just showering." I said with a laugh. "Alright, it you insist." Colby said quietly.
"I did see something when we were at the hotel." I said as I turned the water off. "What did you see, V?" Colby asked and handed me a towel. "I don't know. It was really blurry but I saw a girl running from a man who was covered in blood." I explained as I wrapped the towel around myself.
"What does that mean?" He asked as I shrugged and grabbed another towel so I could dry my hair. "I have no idea." I said then walked into my bedroom. "It's really no big deal, I was a little freaked out about it but the shower helped." I said and turned to him as he sat down on my bed.
"Hmm...well if you need to talk about it, just let me know." He said as I nodded and turned to my closet. "I think I'll be okay." I said with a smile as I got dressed.
"I'm proud of you, V." Colby said quietly as I turned to see him smiling at me. "Why?" I asked with a laugh as I walked over to him. "You're just so tough." He said as I rolled my eyes and grabbed his face, pulling him in for a kiss.
He smiled against my lips as he wrapped his arms around my waist. "Violet! Hurry up!" Ki called out from the other side of the door causing me to giggle and hide my face in Colby's neck.
"Just a minute!" I called out as Colby hugged me tightly. We sat like that for a second since it was such a sweet moment that I didn't want it to end just yet.
"You should go before she kills you." Colby mumbled with a laugh. "Why is she here? Not that I'm complaining, I'm just confused since it's like 2am." I said with a laugh as I stood up straight and brushed my hand on my pants.
"She told me not to tell you." Colby said with a shrug as he stood up. "Oh god, I'm scared." I said then led the way out of the room. "You should be." He said as we walked to the living room.
"Took you long enough!" Ki said as she walked over to me with a puppy in her arms. "What is that?!" I exclaimed as I pouted my lip out and reached for the little brown dog. "This is Stella." Ki said as the dog rested its head on my shoulder.
"When did you get her?" I asked as she laughed. "Earlier today, I came over but your dumb asses were doing shit at a haunted hotel." Ki said with a laugh as I pouted my lip out at Colby.
"Can we get one?" I asked as he shook his head. "You can do whatever you want, you're an adult." He said with a smile as I ran my fingers through the dogs fur.
"You're right, I am an adult." I said and scrunched my nose at him as Stella started licking my face. "Love at first sight." Ki said with a laugh.
"What breed is she? Can I dog sit all the time? Oh, I'm in love." I said as we sat down on the couch. "She's a chocolate lab, and of course you can dog sit all the time." She said as Colby pet Stella. "Especially when I'm on dates and shit." Ki said as I laughed.
"I thought you were seeing that one guy?" I asked and leaned my head on Colby's shoulder as Stella started to doze off in my lap.
"Nah, we was a loser, I definitely deserve better." Ki said as Sam came into the room. "Who's this?!" Sam asked as I laughed. "Sam, this is Ki, I know you bleach your hair sometimes but I didn't think you would be this dense." I said as he rolled his eyes.
"A blonde joke? Really? I thought you were better than this." He said as I shook my head. "Never." I said as he sat on my other side. "Samuel, this is Stella, my lovely daughter." Ki said as Sam pet the dog that was now sleeping on my lap.
"She's so fucking cute." He said then looked at Colby. "Can we get one?" He asked causing Colby to laugh. "Why is everyone asking me as if I'm not obsessed with dogs?" He asked. "I don't know, you're the weird roommate." Sam said as I snorted.
"I am not weird!" Colby retorted as I chuckled. "Yeah, you are." I said as Ki cackled. "Don't you spill soda all over your computer like once a week?" She asked as Colby grumbled.
"I didn't know this was roast Colby night." He said as I giggled and lifted Stella up so I could put her in his lap. "Here's, a puppy. She will make you feel better." I said then stood up.
"Where are you going?" Colby asked as I made my way out of the room. "I'm getting a snack, did you want something?" I asked as Ki stood up. "Yes please, I'm starving." Colby said as I nodded.
"I'll come with." Ki said then followed me to the kitchen. When we got there I looked at Ki. "You seem really happy." I said and started pulling ingredients out to make grilled cheese.
"I am...I can't thank you enough for getting me out here. I'm the happiest I've ever been." She said with a smile. "I didn't get you out here...in fact I wasn't even here for the first nine months that you lived here." I said and started cooking.
"No, but you were the reason I got to visit. Without you I would still be depressed in the middle of nowhere." She said and helped me butter the bread.
"I'm glad you came to live here." I said quietly, feeling the emotions swelling up. "I'm glad you came back...I really didn't think you were going to." Ki said and chewed her lip. "I didn't either. You really convinced me though." I said and looked up at her.
"It was me and not dumb fuck in there?" She asked with a laugh as she jutted her thumb towards the living room. "No, it was you. You reminded me that Colby wasn't the only thing I was missing from here. It woke me up." I said with a sigh.
"That's right, you left the baddest bitch in the world behind. Hoes before bros." She said and held her pinky out. "Bet." I said then linked my pinky through hers.
We finished making the grilled cheeses for everyone then went to hang out in the living room. We ended up staying up and drinking until 3am before Ki decided it was time for her to go home.
"You'll be okay to drive?" I asked Ki as Colby put Stella in her arms. "Yeah, I didn't drink that much. I wouldn't drive drunk but I especially wouldn't drive with my child while drunk." She said causing me to laugh. "Right, right." I said as Colby wrapped his arm around my shoulder.
"Text me when you get home, bitch." I said as we made our way to the front door. "You know I will." She said then waved at us. "Love you guys." She said as Sam, Colby, and I waved. "Love you too." We all said then closed the door.
"That's a cute fucking dog." I said with a sigh as Sam headed for the stairs. "Yeah, Goodnight guys." Sam said and waved to us. "Goodnight , Sam." I said and waved.
"Sleep with me?" I asked and turned to Colby. "Say less." He said then scooped me into his arms. "I didn't mean that, you dork." I said with a laugh as he carried me to my bedroom.
As soon as we got to my room he kicked the door closed and put me on my feet. Before either of us could talk he was pulling me to him by my waist.
"Colby." I whispered as he brought his lips to my neck. "Hmm." He mumbled against my neck as my head rolled back and a small moan left my lips.
"Are we really doing this?" I asked as he wrapped his arms around my waist and squeezed my ass. "If you want to." He said lowly then kissed up my neck and to my ear. I gasped as his movements, feeling my heart race.
"I want to."
