[The teenage Scarlette Sevem bangs her head to rock music coming from her Walkman at full blast.. Multiple dojos pass by - as she lounged in the parking lot of the All Valley Sports Arena. She looks up at the karate students passing, intimidatingly- she swore that she saw a couple people flinch. Daniel accompanies her, just observing her hyping herself up]
"Cute." [He says to himself with a small yet content smile.. Mr. Miyagi alerts his students that it is time to sign up for the tournament. Daniel takes a nervous gulp as he nudges Scarlette, signalling it was time to go inside. Scarlette nods and takes off her headphones, following her sensei inside of the arena beside her boyfriend. Scarlette Sevem, Daniel Larusso, and Mr. Miyagi walk into the All Valley Sports Arena to sign up for the tournament- only twenty minutes before it begins. The students clutch their gis, both looking equally nervous- despite their true talent in karate. Mr. Miyagi steps in front of the sign up table, signing for his two students and sneakily grabbing two black belts for them. He hands the belts to Scarlette behind his back with a wink. Scarlette smiles and shakes her head as she complies and hides the belts. The man at the desk doesn't notice them snatching the belts, he checks the paperwork fully then looks back up at the old man and his teenage students] "You two better hustle, they're starting in a few." [The man points over to the locker room] "Down the hall, to your left."
"Alright, thanks." [Daniel says, almost walking off, but Scarlette stops him with her hand. Daniel is confused at first but the look on Scarlette's face says it all] "Wait is there only one locker room? Like for me and her?" [Daniel asks pointing at himself and Scarlette- and inside he was surprised that Scarlette hadn't asked this herself. She was usually very independent, she wouldn't usually trust someone to say anything for her- she was usually so stubborn in that way. Her trust issues with Daniel had begun to fade away, Daniel smiled to himself as he realized this. The man at the desk shakes his head- Scarlette rolls her eyes..she was told last year that they'd have another room for her to change other than the boys locker room and the girls restroom- apparently she was lied to]
"So I'm supposed to change in the bathroom or-" [Scarlette asks, looking over to the women's bathroom with a long line. She groans, knowing the wait would take too long]
"You won't be able to change in time if you go there- listen, the locker room is very large and most of the fighters have already left it." [The man says. He checks his watch and looks back up at the three] "We're starting in fifteen minutes, so I suggest you hurry now."
"Ok." [Daniel says, still a little uneasy about what had just happened. It just didn't seem fair to him for Scarlette. Mr. Miyagi makes the same slightly uneasy face, but he trusts that Daniel will assist Scarlette if she needs privacy. Mr. Miyagi nods to the two, sending them off and Daniel and Scarlette quickly make their way to the locker room. Thankfully the man at the desk was correct that there was nobody left changing nearby] "Can you believe how ridiculous this is? No room for you to change with privacy?!" [Daniel shakes his head a little frustrated]
"I know." [Scarlette says slightly upset, putting her stuff down beside Daniel, they sit on a bench and take their shoes and socks off] "Don't worry about it, Daniel. Focus on the tournament." [She says, now calm- Scarlette is very focused and determined to win the All Valley this year, and not just for her own adoption and competitive nature. Scarlette also wanted Daniel to be safe, she wanted the bullying to stop]
"I will." [Daniel reassures still sounding impatient] "So how are we gonna do this? You go first or?" [Daniel asks, a little anxiously with a scratch of his head]
