--playing Every Breath you Take by The Police--

[Scarlette leans on the balcony with her chin in her hand. She ponders on what had just occurred and on the future to come] "Finally I'm rid of that abuse, but I don't want to have to move away. Things just started getting better, and now they're back to sucking." [She continues to think after sighing] "Who the hell would want to be my guardian? I'm 16.. nobody wants to adopt a 16 year old!" [She groans as she feels that hope is lost.. until she has a bright idea] "Maybe if I win the tournament, some family nearby will want to adopt me.." [She thought, becoming more determined to win the All Valley this year. Mr. Miyagi looks over at Scarlette in her thoughts with her intense expression. Meanwhile, Daniel walks over to his mother and taps her shoulder for her attention. She lifts her head to acknowledge him]

"Ma, can I talk to you for a sec?" [Daniel asks Lucille Larusso, she nods]

"Sure, honey. What can I do ya for?"

"I'm worried about Scarlette. Can I stay a couple nights at Mr. Miyagi's too?"

"Well of course you can do that- whenever you want. You're 16 now." [Lucille says, rubbing her son's arm in a motherly way. Daniel nods, but he had almost forgotten today was his birthday, there had been so many different things occurring]

"Thanks, mom." [He says in appreciation with a small smile]

"Don't mention it, honey. Just remember to use protection!" [She winks cheesily with a chuckle. Daniel shakes his head before his flustered reply]

"Mom!" [Daniel yells with his face flushed. Lucille laughs at her son's cringing]

"Go pack yourself some clothes, honey." [She packs his back and pushes him towards apartment 2-D]

"Alright, Ma." [Daniel walks into his apartment to gather some clothes. Meanwhile, Scarlette still leans over the Reseda balcony, Mr. Miyagi stands beside her]

"Excited for tournament, Scarlette-San?"

"No offense, but that's not really my biggest concern right now, Mr. Miyagi." [She snaps a little, Mr. Miyagi remains patient]

"Ai. I understand." [He responds calmly, Scarlette stops leaning on the balcony. She looks at her sensei]

"I just don't want to move away, things were finally going right." [She rants a bit] "I finally felt like I was back where I belonged.." [She continues to rant with her head down to her shoulders. Mr.Miyagi nods]

"Ai. I understand." [He repeats calmly] "Have open mind this week, eh?"

"Yeah, I'll try." [She nods and leans her back on the balcony, lifting her head back up to look at the old man]

"Do or do not, there is no try-" [Mr. Miyagi quotes, Scarlette raises her brow] "I hear from space movie. Green short man with big ears say it." [Mr. Miyagi says smiling- Scarlette cannot help but chuckle]

"You're a wonderful old man." [She says with a small smile- she had missed mr. Miyagi all of this time, he was almost a father to her when she was his karate student]

"And you wonderful young lady, Aka-San." [He replies patting her back. This interaction made Scarlette feel a little bit better or at least calmed her down. Daniel walks out of his apartment- Mr. Miyagi and Scarlette look over at him, waiting for him to catch up]

"Bye, 'Ma." [He waves at the window to his mother. She waves back]

"Use protection-" [She calls out. Waves his arms out in cringe as he walks past his apartment]
