White Lies

I don't tend to do love poems, which I didn't really think this one was until I finished it. But it might be a nice break from the rest of my depressing stuff haha. Please vote, and let me know what you think :)

White lies

I saw my smile simply as white lies

Certain that you would keep your eyes

on what I thought was your prize, my thighs

and all that came within, my skin

and how under your fingertips I felt thin.

But you surprised me with your ability and willingness

and want to see pass my bones and fragility.

You with the same smile and wink I'm used to seeing,

carried more than most:

the yearn to know more than just my touch, more than just the taste of blood.

You want to know the feeling of my words and hear them spoken and wrote.

Borrow my glasses and see the world as I see it.

Rose tints and all.

Challenge my views and accept my flaws,

you wanted it all, with no time to pause

and I fell for that. I fell for you,

eyes so blue,

with yellow explosions around the pupils

and words that create explosions to surround my heart.

Is this where its starts, after years of perfecting the fine art of using my filter as a net.

Catch the words before they connect to my lips.

Kiss you to distract my tongue from divulging the one thing that's keeping me whole.

Because once those words are said, the net runs out of reach.

And those butterflies are lost.

Out in the big wide world.

And I don't think I'm ready for that just yet.
