Complacency

A true challenge within a pandemic is this idea of self-improvement. Here are my thoughts on it. Please vote and let me know what you think.

Complacency

A true fear of mine is complacency.

To be at a point in life where I no longer push myself.

The daily forgetfulness of existence.

Routine monotony seizing control.

But rejecting complacency must be balanced with contentment.

Wary of focus on the future, blinding steps taken in the present.

Born from a youthful naïve mindset,

To actively self-improve is a privilege and an act of true freedom.

Contentment, on the other hand, is an act of rebellion.

Rejecting toxic productivity that tempts to drown us.

Capitalism feeding off our restlessness and dissatisfaction.

Trapped in a self-fulfilling prophecy cycle.

Therefore, an awareness of both is recommended.

And a prescription of balance is written.

But is not implementing equilibrium in life,

self-improvement itself?
