Song- I Think Were Alone Now by Tiffany"Here we are." Dad spoke more to himself, as I followed him to the living room. We sat around for a bit until he walked upstairs, but I decided to stay downstairs. "What is she doing here? She doesn't belong here, not after what she did." I knew about the book Vanya wrote, I never read it, though but I heard my dads complaints about it, god I thought I'd never hear the end of it. "You're seriously going to do this today, with your daughter here Diego?"
"Way to dress for the occasion by the way Diego." She called up. "Atleast we're wearing black." I was wearing a black longsleeve dress that went above my knees, the arms were flowy reminds me of Nancy Downs from that movie, and then I had small black combat boots, and some layered black and silver cross necklaces and beaded necklaces. My black hair was clipped back into a messy bun. Dad was wearing his usual, boring "leather" outfit. I mean I guess it adds character to him? But I hate it, and I make fun of him for it. I got up and went to Allison and Vanya who had finished hugging. "Hey Frances, you got taller since the last time I've seen you." Allison smiled. "That's puberty for ya." I smiled and looked at my shoes. "Hey it's good to see you again Frances." Vanya gave a small smile, and Allison pulled all three of us into a hug. We broke off, and I went upstairs to see what my dad was up too.I put a hand on my dads arm and he turned and put a finger on his lip, then he continued to creep into a room. As we walked into the doorway we both stopped to see a tall, big, blonde in a bedroom searching through things. "I can save you some time" Dad spoke. He turned to us, and eyed me longer than Diego.
"They're all locked, no forced entry, no sign of struggle." I followed as we walked closer to the man. It seemed both dad and I had shifted out weight to get a better look at the big guy. "Woahhh you got big Luther, what's the secret huh? Protein shakes, low carbs?""What do you want" Luther spoke to Diego.
Dad pulled something from his pocket and handed that paper he grabbed to Luther. "The autopsy report." Luther took it from his hand after he teased him.
"And you have this why?"
"That's because I broke into the coroners office. And surprise surprise dads death was, normal, just boring old heart failure."
"Yeah so."
"So, why are you in here.. checking all the windows."
"Were you the first one to see him?"
"No, Pogo found him."
"I talked to Pogo and he said he couldnt find dads monocle."
"And your point being?""Can you think of a single time dad wasn't wearing his monacle? No so that's why I think someone took it, which means there was a chance he wasn't alone when he died."
"There is no mystery here, just a sad old man who kicked it in a big empty house.. just like he deserved."
"You should leave."
"Whatever you say, brother." Dad turned and walked out the door, and before I followed I looked at Luther in a look of confusion and he met me with an awkward smile and wave. I raised an eyebrow at my Uncle and waved back and turned to follow my dad.We went down to the living room again. I Sat in a chair, dad standing behind me, leaning on the chair. There was uncomfortable silence between everyone.
"Uhm, I guess we should get this started, So I thought we could have some kind of memorial service, at the courtyard at sundown, just at dads favorite spot." Luther said. "Dad had a favourite spot?" Allison asked.
The rest of the group looked just as confused. "Yeah under the oak tree." Luther answered."He used to sit out there all the time none of you ever did that?" Luther asked now confused.
"Will there be any refreshments?" Klaus said, walking into the living room from the bar with a glass in his hand. "Tea, scones, cucumber sandwiches are always a winner." Klaus continued, while walking over to the couch next to Vanya.
