Song: Memory Bound

Klaus had brought them to a bus and they both sat, getting weird looks from passengers for all the wrong reasons. Klaus carrying the briefcase, ecstatic, and Frances nearly asleep on his shoulder. A click was what Frances heard when blue zaps ca,e from the case and was blinding her. When it was done, both Klaus and the briefcase was gone. Frances leapt up, looking around for him.
—————
Frances went back to the Academy as it was closer, and she hoped her dad or Klaus would be there.
—————
"Uh said she found your brother." Al spoke
"Klaus.." He then thought back to The Academy, if they took Klaus they also took, "Frances!" Diego ran out.
————————
"Frances!"
He turned to two empty chairs, and a body on the floor.
Eudora's hand was over the pocket knife Diego had given Frances. Diego picked it up, knowing Eudora died not knowing why her daughter was tied up and bloody, all because Diego didn't want to worry her, he had no one to blame but himself.
———————————-
"Now, wanna tell us what you're talking about?" Luther dropped Diego who had tears forming in his eyes. "Our brothers been pretty busy since he got back, he was in the middle of that shoot out at Griddys' and then at Gamble Brothers after the guys in masks attacked the Academy, looking for him." Diego said bitterly. "None of which is any of your concern." Five replied. "It is now, they just killed my daughters mother, and on top of that tortured Frances." Diego stared coldly. Five swallowed while still staring up blankly. Luther turned to Five, "Who are they Five?" "They work for my former employer, a woman called the handler. She sent them, to stop me and soon as Frances' mom got in their way well fair game." "Well now they're my fair game. And once I find Frances, I'm gonna see it they pay." "That would be a mistake Diego, they've killed far more dangerous than you." "Yeah well, we will see about that." And with that he walked out.

Frances was sitting, head in hands at the edge of Klaus' bed. Footsteps approached. "Klaus!" She ran up and wrapped her arms around him. He stood shocked for a moment and hugged her back. "You ok?" Five walked in, and Klaus and Frances pulled apart. "Hey, just long night." Klaus sighed, "more than one, from the looks of it." Five chuckled. "Yeah." "Don't remember the dog tags." "Yeah they belonged to a friend." "How about that new tattoo." Frances looked at the tattoo then back up at Klaus confused. "I don't totally remember getting it, like I said it was a long night." Klaus pulled a shirt over the tattoo. "You did it didn't you." Five came closer. "What are you talking about?" Frances looked at both of them. "He has all the symptoms Frances, jet lag, full body itch, headache that feels like someone shoved a box of cotton up into your nose and through your brain." Five answered Frances then looked at Klaus. "Wanna tell me about it?" "Your pals when they broke into the house, and they couldn't find you they took me hostage instead, Frances too." "And in return you stole their briefcase." Five smiled understanding. "Yeah, I thought there was money in it, or I could pawn it you know, whatever, and then I opened it." "And the next thing you know you were.. where? Or should I say when." "I don't get it." Frances spoke up, both didn't mind her, "What difference does it make?" Klaus shrugged. "What differ—Uh— ok how long were you gone?" "Almost a year." Klaus answered. "A year? Do you know what this means?" "Yeah, I'm 10 months older now." "No this isn't any sort of joke Klaus, Hazel and Cha Cha will do whatever it takes to get the briefcase. Where is it now?" "Gone. I destroyed it, poof." "What the hell were you thinking?" "What do you care?" "What do you- I needed it you moron so I- could- I could get back." Five's attitude changed, Frances still staring blankly confused to the situation. Klaus walked out of the room, but Five stayed and so did Frances. Five sat and grabbed a notepad and wrote a note. "Can you explain Five?" Frances spoke. "The briefcase is something they used at my old job, it can bring you anywhere in time. Klaus opened it and he was brought somewhere." Five answered quickly as he wrote the letter. "Your dads looking for you by the way...I'm sorry." Five sounded like he knew something but left the room before Frances could ask.
———————————
Frances walked out after a few minutes and passed her dads old room, and then stepped back. "Dad?" She spoke silently. He turned to her and stood as he was reaching under his bed. "Frances," He said breathlessly and wrapped her in a hug. They embraced silently, tears here and there for minutes. Diego was the one to pull away, he was crying as he told Frances, leaving out the traumatic details, only telling her that the psychos killed her. Frances was shooken up by his words, and reacted the same way he did when he found her....
———————————
"You ok? Wow this is a first. My brother Klaus is silent. The last time you were this quiet, we were 12. Ran down the stairs wearing Graces heels, tripped over, and broke your jaw." Klaus and Frances were both in the backseat, both silently staring out their windows. Frances still has not accepted her mom was really gone, but she was there for the idea of her dad killing her torturers, and her moms gunmen.
"How long was it wired shut again?" Diego asked.
"8 weeks." Klaus answered
"8 glorious weeks of bliss."
"Hey just drop me off there," Klaus pointed to a vets bar. Frances and Diego wore the same look, but Frances knowing more than her dad, connected the dots and knew why he wanted to stop there. He lost someone Frances realized.
"Sure you're ok man?" Diego called and Klaus ignored him. Diego parked and turned to look at Frances behind him. "I know why he's in there." She spoke. Her dad sat back in his seat and turned the mirror so he could look at her. She stared back out the window while talking. "When we escaped he took the psychos briefcase, and opened it which brought him to a place in time, Five told me." "What are you saying?" "The briefcase is given to them by Fives employer he used to work for I'm guessing, so that they can travel and kill people who-" "Get in their way." Diego finished and slumped in his seat, then turned to look at the building again. Diego silently connecting the dots, so Frances and Diego sat now knowing the same information.
——————
"Just go away please."
"Frances told me."
"Hey guys. This bar is for vets only." A different male voice spoke.
"I am a vet."
