TW: name calling and slurs used that targets the lgbtq
The brick wall was punched open. Luther looked out of it to see Five and Frances leaning on the car outside looking up at him. Five scoffed with a smile and Frances just shook her head.

"Well that clearly went well." Five said.
"I'm going back to farm." Vanya said walking past both of them.
"Hey. Unacceptable Vanya. Remeber we need to stick together."
"Oh why so I don't end the world again?"
"Jesus Christ, Luther." Frances sighed looking up at the brick hole.
"-were you two even going to tell me?" Vanya opened the car door.
"You know what, in my defense no, alright? And can you blame me? When you get angry, shit blows up."
"Great are there any of the family secrets you failed to mention?"
"A boatload." Frances laughed.
"Which I don't have the luxury of sharing them with the—" Five raised his voice as Vanya shut the car door. Five calmed down and Vanya rolled the window down.
"The clock is ticking on doomsday. Just tell me that, when I need you you'll be ready."
"I can't help you Five. I don't even know who I am."
"You're our sister, and a member of The Umbrella Academy. Like it or not that's who you are."
"That's who I was okay? New timeline new me." Vanya drove off.
"No that's not how it works-" Five shouted to her but gave up. "It will be fine, nooone sticks to their New Years resolutions so I doubt she will be able to stick to this."
Five sighed.

"Oh look who's coming out to say hi." Frances looked up to the building. Five also looked over to Luther who was flipping them off.
Five shrugged his shoulders, and Frances waved.
"Wonder if it's too late to be un adopted." Five walked off, with Frances following.
————
"So what you just let her go?" Diego asked.
"Well Vanya has a lot to process dad, you still can't process that you won't be able to save your fling from getting shot." Frances said.
"What?" Diego asked.
"Kennedy?" She answered looking at Lila and Diego strangely. Frances opened her mouth to speak but closed it and she swallowed hard like she was pushing back vomit. She looked the other way and walked closer to Five.
"Anyways- I'm sure Vanya will come around I know she will." Five interrupted.
"What about the guys that went after her?" Diego asked.
"The Swedes?" Five asked.
"Yeah I mean how do you know they wont go after her again?"
Elliot passed out drinks.
"We don't." Five replied.
"Any idea who sent them?" Lila asked.
"Oh I have my suspicions." Five smiled.
"Bye." Frances said standing up.
"Hey where are you going?" Diego asked.
"For a walk." Frances lied.
"No. You are not going for a walk when there are Swedes who want us dead." Diego scolded.
"Oh my god, are you swedishphobic?" Frances gasped.
"No- I- Frances you aren't going to be wandering about."
Frances was walking tword the exit.
"Frances no-" Diego winced, as he stood up with his bullet wound. Diego knew he wouldn't stop her.
"Take a knife atleast." He called out. She stopped and turned and Diego threw her a knife which she caught perfectly.
"Thanks dad!" She said as she jogged down the steps. "Don't die! Please." Diego shouted.
—————
Frances had wondered around a bit.
She was sweating in her jeans and striped blouse. She had put her hair in a bun to ease the sweating.
She stopped outside a diner and reached in her pocket, a crisp $50 she stole from a purse.
She smiled and walked in. She looked around for a place to sit. Her eyes laid on a familiar blouse, and familiar hair. "Klaus!" Frances gasped. Klaus turned and breathed, "Frances." They ran tword eachother with chuckles and smiles. They had embraced in a sweet hug. "Is Diego here?" They pulled apart. "No, I had ran out of the house for a walk." Frances answered. "Nice outfit." Klaus looked down at her outfit. They both laughed, they were wearing the same thing.

"I have to talk to someone, so come with." Klaus ushered her tword a table with a young boy sitting at it.
Frances pushes her eyebrows together, but she follows Klaus anyways.
"Hey, Mamie Pink right?" The boy said recognizing Klaus. "Klaus Hargreeves but you can call me whatever you want." The boys eyes darted over to Frances he slightly pointed and Klaus wrapped an arm around her shoulder. "This is my niece, Frances." Klaus said.
"Oh hi, I'm Dave." Dave nodded a smile, and Frances returned it.
"How she lookin?" Dave returned the conversation to Klaus.
"Listen to me Dave I have to talk to you about something important, okay. This is gonna sound kinda crazy but uh, I know you..."
Dave, Frances knew that name... Klaus was going to try and stop Dave from enlisting.
"Yeah from the hardware store." Dave said confused.
"No from before, well after. Listen, I know you're thinking about enlisting because your grandfather fought in World War I and your father fought in World War II, and that guy you're eating brunch with is your uncle Ryan who fought in Korea." Frances put a hand on Klaus' shoulder to tell him he said enough. Klaus nodded, "Brian." Dave corrected.
"Brian. And you, maybe look up to Brian and you could start believing all this stuff he's saying about the military making you a man."
"Is this a joke or something?" Dave chuckled.
"Dave if you enlist they are going to send you to Vietnam."
"What the heck are you talking about?"
"Fifty thousand American soldiers and a million Vietnamese-" "Klaus-" Frances tried to stop him but he ignored her.
"-all die for nothing. Because the dominos aren't going to topple Dave, the communists aren't going to invade all of East Asia,"
"Says you." Brian came back.
"Oh hey Brian." Klaus said.
"Hi." Frances smiled.
"You know these clowns?" Brian asked Dave.
"Uhm, he bought pink paint at the store.. and that's his Niece."
"Pink paint. Makes sense."
"Pink can actually be very masculine in the right setting." Frances spoke up to the man. Klaus smiled in agreement.
"Is that right? How about you and this queer get out of my seat."
Frances immediately got mad.
"Oh wow. If I had a nickel for every time I heard that-" Klaus laughed.
Brian had pulled Klaus our of the seat by his arms, and Frances by the collar of her shirt and he threw Klaus on the floor but Frances grabbed the hand he was using to hold her shirt and she dug her nails into his skin and he let go of her. Klaus sat up and was pushing Frances back with his hand so Brian wouldn't go after her again after she had just 'hurt' him.
"Hey take it easy there Brian." Klaus laughed.
Brian sat in his seat and payed no mind to them.
Klaus laughed and Frances cautiously held the knife handle in her pocket, ready to pull it out.
"I just need 5 minutes of your time Dave." Klaus smiled.
"Gonna just sit there and listen to the Pansy?" Brian asked.
"You don't have to join to become a man."
"Hit the queer."
"Don't sacrifice yourself."
"Hit him damn it."
"Cause I love you."
"Hit him!"
"I love you."
"Hit the queer."
"And I know there's a day you'll love-"
"Hit him hit him!"
Dave stood up and Frances pulled the knife and threw it perfectly, to slice the side of Brian's ear. But also at that moment Dave Punched Klaus. Frances didn't retrieve the knife, and immediately went to aid Klaus.
She pulled him up from the table and looked at his lip that was cut. Klaus looked like he was about to cry.
Klaus turned from Frances who was using a nearby napkin to wipe it and he stared sadly at Dave who seemed like he regret what he did. Klaus turned and walked out, with Frances next to him who was looking back to glare at Dave.
Klaus was running, covering his lip.

Frances followed, "Klaus- Klaus please stop." She pleaded. He finally turned, and she ushered him to a nearby corner where no one would see them. Klaus was apologizing in overlapping words and she sat him down on the ground and she sat next to him. He stopped talking and a tear fell from his eye. Frances finally was able to dab the blood off, and she waited for him to calm down before they continued to walk.

"Klaus, there are other ways to deal with this." Frances said as they stood outside a liquor building.
"Like what."
"Talk to someone... preferably not someone in the 60s who would sent you to the nut house... there are better ways."
Klaus cracked his neck and walked in.
Frances reluctantly followed.
Klaus was waltzing around the store as Frances followed, trying to secretly put things back on shelves with fail since he kept adding more.

Klaus opened a bottle and offered some to Frances, who took a gulp. She had no reaction to it.

"So Klaus, you started a Cult... without me?" Frances asked as they walked tword a mansion.
"Do you want them? I don't." Klaus chuckled.
"well..." Frances said.
The door was open. "Oh no." Klaus moaned.
Their bus was there too, "god damn it,"
"Klaus-" Frances said concerned as people in robes started swarming put from the one door.
"Run," Klaus said to Frances. Klaus threw the alcohol as they ran.
"Yeah I change my mind." Frances shouted.
—————
"Hola" Klaus said drunkingly.
"Frances?" Allison spoke, and brought her into a side hug, she was surprised to see her.
"Esta... Allison en casa buena?"
Allison released Frances from the hug and walked inside. "Oh sweet Jesus, how ever did you end up with him?" Allison asked. "I was in a diner and witnessed him get punched by the love of his life." Frances answered, pulling Klaus inside by his arm.
"I just need a place to crash for one night." Klaus slurred. Frances walked over to Allison.
"Couch is all yours."
"Don't go chasing waterfalls, I mean stick to the rivers and lakes that you're used to bitches." Klaus layed on Allison's couch and immediately shut his eyes.
Allison sighed and put a blanket over him and sat at the kitchen table and Frances sat next to her.

"Dad has a girlfriend." Frances spoke first.
"Really... who is she."
"Lila, and she's a bit crazy but I like her."
Allison smiled.
"That's good.. I missed you."
"I missed you too, I found all of you now. Dad, Lila, Five, and I are staying at a guy named Elliot's house. He's into all these government secrets, and aliens and stuff." Frances smiled and chuckled.
"Frances, why isn't Diego with you?"
"I told him I'm going for a walk, and I wondered already and found Klaus at a diner and here we are. But I should probably call him.. it's too late to go back."
"Do you know his number?"
"Yes."

——
No answer

Frances put the phone back on the wall.
"I can make a spot in our bed or you can find a spot on the couch." Allison offered.
Frances smiled thankfully and walked over to the couch. She layed behind Klaus, her feet next to Klaus' face and her face by his feet.
"Are you sure you are ok?" Allison smiled at the two squished on the couch.
"I'm fine."
"Goodnight, Frances."
"Goodnight."
