My alarm wakes me up, and I groggily smack the top button to turn it off. I roll out of bed to get ready for camp.
Training camp starts today... hooray.
I make sure to grab my luggage before leaving and heading to UA.
-----
As we wait for the bus to be loaded, Mr. Aizawa makes a few announcements.
"Now that you've finished up your first semester at UA High, it's time for summer vacation to officially begin. However, don't think these will be months of rest for you heroes-in-the-making. At this camp, we'll push you beyond your limits. You're aiming to become 'Plus Ultra.'" he tells us.
Everyone begins talking and getting excited about training camp as he walks away. I still don't get why everyone is so happy, it's just more work.
"Camp! Camp! Camp! Camp!" Uraraka, Mina, and Denki start chanting.
Wow, they are really excited, huh?
"Hey, Emi! You excited for the training camp?" Kirishima asks as he and Denki walk up to me.
No.
"Yeah, but I wonder what they have in store for us," I lie.
"Same here. Hopefully, it's nothing too hard especially since me and Kaminari here have to take those extra classes," Kirishima says and points to Denki.
"Attention, Class A, our bus is here. Everyone line up in seating order!" Iida yells.
We all lineup and get on the bus. I'm last since my number is 21 and see the only open seat next to Mr. Aizawa.
Seating next to him will be boring... Perfect!
I step over him and sit down, leaning my head against the window as the bus starts up. Mr. Aizawa turns around and tells us that our first stop will be in an hour, but his voice gets drowned out by everyone else's conversations.
Just one moment of peace, is that too much to ask for here?
I hear Mr. Aizawa sigh disappointedly at his students and he turns his head back around.
"Why do I bother?" I hear him grumble to himself.
I giggle at what he said and he glances at me, "you should probably rest, Emi. This camp isn't going to be easy."
"Way ahead of you," I respond as I close my eyes and start to fall asleep.
-----
"Emi, come on," Mr. Aizawa says.
I groan and keep my eyes closed, not wanting to get up.
I hear him sigh and shake my shoulder, "wake up. You have to get off the bus."
"Fine, fine... I'm going," I say as I slowly stand up and walk off the bus.
Is this a rest stop? There is nothing here except a ledge and more road.
"Huh. This isn't much of a rest area," Kirishima states.
"You don't really think we stopped here just so you could stretch your legs, do you?" Mr. Aizawa says.
I notice a car parked next to our bus. A young boy along with two women dressed in cat costumes get out and introduced themselves as the 'Wild, Wild Pussycats'.
"These are the pro heroes you'll be working with at the summer training camp," Mr. Aizawa explains.
These two are pro heroes? I swear, I will never understand hero costumes...
