Xander POV
Looks like the kid is doing just fine without me. Not that it's surprising since she's always been independent... Damn it, letting go is a lot harder than I thought, but I have to do this. I can't have her turning into me...
Glancing over my shoulder, I see Emi watch me as I walk away. Her amber eyes stare at me, the same strong gaze as her father's.
Oliver...
Sighing out loud, I chuckle to myself, "guess I'm still selfish. Sorry, Kid, but you're going to be stuck with me... this time I'll make sure to protect you, not the other way around."
Lightly smiling to myself as I walk, something briefly catches my eye.
The hell?
Emi POV
"Wow! It's been forever since I've been here!" I exclaim as I walk into the brightly light arcade.
"You sure are excited," Kirishima laughs.
"It's nostalgic," I smile, "so, what should we play first?"
"Well, what games did you play when you were younger?" he asks.
"Shooting games, racing games, air hockey, and I remember there was a dancing game I was pretty good at," I remember.
"Alright, then let's see if any of those are open," he says as we split away from the others.
Immediately spotting the air hockey table open, my face lights up, "wanna play a few rounds?"
"You know it!" the redhead beams.
Quickly pushing in a quarter, the table buzzes to life, and I set up my first shot.
"Try and block... this!" I say, hitting the puck straight into the goal.
"Dang, I thought I had that," he laughs.
As we play, I score point after point and win two games back to back. Drooping his head after his second loss, Denki and Bakugou walk up to us.
"You really suck," Bakugou teases.
Kirishima lifts his head, "you try to beat her! She's really good."
"No way am I playing a dumb game like that," Bakugou says.
I taunt him, "why? You scared or something, Anger Issues?"
He stops for a few moments before pushing Kirishima out of the way and grabs the striker and puck, "no way in hell."
"Bring it on then," I smirk.
Our game lasts a good ten minutes before I pull ahead to a 7-5 win. Standing victorious, I notice Bakugou's anger begin to surface again.
"You only won because this game isn't my forte!" he looks around and points to a two-person shooter game called 'Alien Invasion', "rematch on that game! The person with the highest score wins!"
I hold out my hand, "you're on, but I bet ten dollars I'll kick your ass at this game too."
He hesitantly shakes it, "get ready to lose, dumbass."
The goal of this game is pretty straightforward, kill as many aliens as you can and survive. The more accurate and precise your shots are, the higher your end score will be.
We each pick up a toy gun and select the hardest game mode. As soon as the game loads, aliens begin darting across the screen, charging us. Diverting all my attention to staying alive, the game goes by in a flash, and our scores pop up.
