Chapter 28: The End of an Era

*Time skip ahead one month*

It was time for the final BTS tour in America and they had everything prepared to share the news of their disbandment for the last show of the tour. They felt bad that it was going to be announced in America and not in their own home country but they had to do what they had to do according to the timing. Namjoon did not tell Mary about their disbandment and she was going to find out at the same time as everyone else. He figured that she could plan out her move and have more time to adjust to the idea of her leaving her home country in the two years he would be in the military.

Tour started as usual and with each performance they put in their heart and soul and made sure that each venue and group of ARMYs received the same amount of love and attention. Unlike their other concerts, they ended these last concerts with Namjoon saying "We will miss you" to which ARMY and Mary had no idea why they were saying that and thought that it meant they would come back. All of their interviews had been cancelled because they're always asked "What are your plans for the near future?" and they didn't want to expose their disbandment just yet. Luckily, that gave Namjoon and Mary a lot of time to hang out but it also gave the boys more time to relax between shows and enjoy their last moments as BTS. They were even able to walk around malls and be tourists for a little bit since they didn't get much time to do that before.

Time seemed to fly by and before they knew it, their last show ever had arrived. They performed their show as usual and before leaving, Namjoon took center stage and a video was queued up behind them. The video was a compilation of them performing together, music videos, Run BTS, In the Soop, various YouTube videos, interviews, and photos they took throughout their 10 years together. Namjoon then spoke:

"Hello ARMY. None of you know this as we have kept it a secret. This is our final tour and last show as BTS. We have had an amazing 10 years with you all and ARMY will always be our family but Jin, Suga, and I would like to settle down and make our family bigger! We will be enlisting in the military and returning to Korea afterwards to continue music as solo artists or maybe even try different forms of art like acting or modeling. The maknaes and J-Hope aren't ready to settle down just yet but one day they will also make our BTS family grow."

Namjoon began to get emotional, choked up, and stopped talking. The other members gave him a group hug and then backed away and continued the speech for him. They each shared their appreciation and gratitude towards ARMY and everyone who was ever involved in their music career with the best English they could. The boys also began to cry as they said their final goodbyes to ARMY. Mary and Haru who had been watching this go down backstage began to tear up as well. Mary was crying because she knew that he had made that decision for her and it was very touching. Haru cried because she would miss being on tours with them and protecting them. She was very grateful for the opportunity and experiences she got from being their bodyguard.

After wrapping up their speeches and the video behind them ended, they held hands and bowed to the audience. They blew kisses, put up finger hearts, and before setting off the fireworks and lowering the stage floor, Namjoon said "We will always be a family, I promise. Borahae ARMY." As the stage lowered itself, Mary was waiting for him and as soon as she saw him she gave him a big hug and they both relaxed from crying in each other's arms.

"Namjoon, why didn't you tell me?" Mary asked him.

"I didn't want you to be sad with the thought of us disbanding in the back of your mind," he replied.

"Are you sure this is what you guys want?" Mary asked everyone in Korean.

"Don't worry about us Mary, we have been thinking about this for a while and while we are impacting the maknaes, we know they will strive as solo artists and we'll always be their family," Jin told her.
