Chapter 2: The Search

"Hold on Mary, explain yourself," Gianna demanded, "You came here not seeing in color and now you can see in color! Who did you make eye contact with? A fan?" Mary, still in shock, tried her best to think about when it happened. "It was towards the end when Namjoon gave you a high five," Mary recalled. Gianna screamed with excitement. "Ouch my ears Gianna! Calm down," Mary said annoyed. "Sorry Mary, but do you know what this means?" Gianna excitedly stared at Mary as Mary came to her own conclusion and gasped "OH MY GOD! NO WAY! NAMJOON IS MY SOULMATE!" They held hands, jumped up and down, and screamed together!

As the BTS boys returned to their hotel room, Namjoon tried to recall who he looked at in the audience but there were so many girls that he saw in that moment and couldn't for the life of him remember who it was. "Guys," Namjoon began, "I can't remember who I looked at when I saw color. Any of those girls in the front could've been my soulmate." "We should tell Manager Sejin that your soulmate is one of the ARMY girls and he can tell us how to proceed," J-Hope suggested. Jin agreed, "Yeah, as a celebrity, having a fan as your soulmate can present some problems." The other boys all nodded in agreement. Namjoon also agreed with them and left the hotel room to talk to Manager Sejin.

Namjoon sat down with Manager Sejin and explained what had happened at the concert that night. He congratulated Namjoon on having found his soulmate and said that the boys were right in sending Namjoon to him. "We have to suspend your tour momentarily as you find your soulmate from tonight. Tomorrow morning, you will go on V Live to explain what happened to the other ARMYs. This way, your soulmate will know you're looking for her. However, before you go live, come see me. We'll think about how to get you two to meet." Namjoon thanked Manager Sejin and went back to his hotel room to call it a night.

The following morning, Mary woke up at around 10 after having had a lovely end to her night with watching her favorite films in color with Gianna. Gianna had left back home early as her soulmate returned from his trip that day. Mary looked through her phone as usual and while she was scrolling through Tik-tok, enjoying the colorful world, a notification on her phone popped up from V Live titled "BTS Livestream. Namjoon has an announcement." Mary's heart raced because she knew it was about her before it had even started. She opened the app as the stream was starting and turned on the automatic translating captions. Joon sat down at a desk and began speaking in Korean, "I'm sorry to my Korean ARMY but it is crucial for me to speak in English for the remainder of the live as I am directing this live to my American ARMY." He switched to English and continued, "Hi American ARMY! As you know, last night we performed at our first stop for the American tour. At the end of the concert, I was able to see color. That means that one of you in the front row from the concert is my soulmate and I'm here to say, I'm looking for you, so if you see this, here's where you can find me. Go back to the venue this evening at 5 PM, head to the main entrance, and Manager Sejin will have a special question you have to answer to determine if you're my soulmate or not. I hope you come and I am excited to meet you. Love you ARMY, I'm logging off."

The live ended as Mary dropped her phone in shock! She was going to meet her soulmate and how amazing that it was Namjoon! She called Gianna and told her what happened on the livestream and that she was going to see him that night. Mary couldn't contain her excitement as she looked through her dresses to find the perfect outfit to meet her soulmate properly later that evening.

As the evening approached, Namjoon was dressing up in his finest suit and his makeup artists helped him do some touch ups, not that he needed it, but it was standard in the industry. Manager Sejin walked in to talk to Namjoon before heading out to the front.

"You nervous Joon?"

"Yes, I am. I'm meeting my soulmate, I'm seeing in color for the first time, it's all so nerve wracking but exciting too. More than a concert."

"That's understandable. I'm glad you're handling this well. I'll bring her to you as soon as I find her."

Manager Sejin headed for the exit but Namjoon interrupted him.

"Manager Sejin."

"Yes Joon?"

"What is the special question you're going to ask?"

Mary had arrived at the venue dressed up in a beautiful black dress covered in roses, black flats, and her hair down with a rose clip on the side. Her makeup was light and looked natural. She nervously walked to the entrance and noticed many girls standing in line waiting for Manager Sejin to walk out. Mary knew she was the soulmate so she didn't worry about any other girl passing off as his soulmate. However, she wondered what the mystery question was.

One by one, the girls approached Manager Sejin, answered his question, and then were escorted away from the entrance. Eventually, it was Mary's turn. Some girls were behind her but she knew they wouldn't get a chance, unless she screwed up the answer! She took a deep breath and approached Manager Sejin. He said something in Korean and the translator spoke to Mary what he said. "Manager Sejin says hello and asks for your name." She bashfully responded, "My name is Mary." The translator exchanged a few words in Korean with Manager Sejin before turning back to her. "Now, before we ask you the special question, please note that if you answer wrong, you will be escorted away from the venue. Understood?" Mary nodded. Manager Sejin reached under the table and pulled out the new BTS album box for BE. Manager Sejin asked in Korean and the translator translated "What color is this box?"
