Chapter 10: A Surprise Visit

The following morning, bright and early for breakfast, Mary tapped her bracelet once to tell Namjoon "Hello." Namjoon tapped back and it made her smile.

"What's with the new bracelet?" Haru asked curiously.

"It's a love thing between her and Joon," Gianna replied.

"A love thing?"

"Right, you had no idea about last night," Mary stated.

Mary proceeded to explain what had happened the night before to Haru and Gianna as they dressed themselves.

"That's so romantic. I wish I could have a connection like that with someone," Haru said.

"Have you not met your soulmate yet?" Gianna asked in shock.

"No, I have. But she passed away a couple years ago, in an accident."

"I'm so sorry Haru," Mary told her.

"Are you okay?" Gianna asked her.

"Yeah, I'm over it now. However, at the time she passed away, it was very hard to process."

"How long did you know her for?" Mary asked.

"I luckily had a wonderful 10 years with her. We met when I was 19 and she was 21. Once she passed, I lost my ability to see color. It was a terrifying experience. I dialed her and there was no answer. Her sister informed me about her death about a day later."

"Oh no! You can't see color anymore? I don't know what I would do. I didn't even know that was possible," Mary said sadly.

"It's ok though, according to history, we can find another soulmate who lost their first soulmate too so there's still hope. Besides, when I look at a photo or video that she's in, I can still see her in color but nothing else."

"Wow," Gianna said, "I never knew about what happened if you lost your soulmate in an accident. I'm sorry it happened to you but this was very informative."

"Sorry for bringing the mood down girls. I'm happy for you and Namjoon, Mary."

"Thank you for sharing with us Haru."

Meanwhile, in the boys' room, they all wondered what was taking the girls so long to arrive for breakfast.

"Namjoon, can you tell your soulmate and her friends to hurry up please?" Yoongi said, kind of annoyed, "I'm hungry."

Namjoon tapped his bracelet once and after a few seconds, Mary tapped back.

"I think she's coming. She tapped me back," Namjoon told the others.

"I can see the bracelet is coming in handy," Jimin stated.

"She loved it! Thank you guys again."

"Don't mention it Rap Monster," J-Hope stated, "we have your back."

About a minute later, Namjoon felt a tap on his bracelet.

"I think the girls are outside our door."

Namjoon went to open the door and indeed, Mary, Gianna, and Haru were outside.

"Why didn't you just knock?" Namjoon asked her.

"Tapping you is more fun," Mary replied with a smile. She directed her attention to everyone else in the room. "Yeoboseyo everyone! (Meaning "Hello everyone!" in Korean)" she said.

"Yeoboseyo!" the boys said in unison.

Namjoon offered Mary a seat next to him at the table as everyone else settled around them. Jin began serving everyone. They had chicken, rice, scrambled eggs, and stew.
