"You know, I've been thinking about the bonsai shop idea." Daniel said as the trio began loading bonsai's out of the car. "You already have all the stock. How hard can it be?"

"Not too hard, Daniel-san...if Miyagi have money for lease, deposit, fix-up. But since we build house for Yukie in Okinawa...money very short supply." Me Miyagi explained.

"Supply?" Daniel asked, pulling an envelope from his pocket and opening it up. "Supplies are us." Inside the envelope was the money for getting himself registered, making Marie shake her head immediately.

"Thank you, Daniel-san, but that not money." Mr Miyagi said with the shake of his head.

"It looks like money. Smells like money. Good money. Smell that." Daniel held it up to Marie, who pushed it away with a smile.

"That smells like college tuition." Marie corrected him.

""Marie-san right." Mr Miyagi agreed.

"I know, Mr. Miyagi, but I have a great idea..."

"Daniel-san. No idea. Discussion closed." Mr Miyagi spoke, cutting him off.

"But what about your dream? And, Mr. Miyagi, no offence, but if you miss the train this time...there may not be another one for a long time." Daniel reasoned. Marie had to agree with him there, Mr Miyagi could be missing out on his only opportunity to fulfill his dream.

"Then Miyagi take bus." Marie smiled, shaking her head as the tail gate closed.

"I'll see you guys tomorrow. I'm heading home." Marie said, putting her hands on her hips.

"Alright. I'll see you tomorrow." Daniel leaned down and pressed a kiss on Marie's lips, pulling away after a few moments.

"Bye Mr Miyagi."

"Goodnight, Marie-san." Mr Miyagi replied with a wave. Marie waved Daniel goodbye one last time before jogging to her car, smiling as she opened the door and started it up, heading home.

"Yes mom, don't worry, I'm all registered and everything." Marie held the phone up to her ear as she poured herself a glass of water, shaking out her arms. "Yes, almost everything is packed up and ready for when you get here next month." Marie paused, listening to her mom through the phone.

"Mom, I'll be fine. I'm eighteen, I think I can handle myself." Marie replied with a chuckle at her mom's worried tone. "Alright, I'll talk to you later. Love you. Bye bye." Marie smiled as she hung up, setting the phone back in it's holding as she took a sip of her water.

For her, college didn't start till for a few months, because she wasn't staying in California like Daniel. As she continued to drink her water, her watch began beeping, making her sigh. "Great." She muttered, making her way into the bathroom and standing in front of the mirror.

The bright white bandage was staring Marie in the face, making her frown as she stared at her reflection in the mirror. "Easy, easy." Marie whispered to herself, slowing pulling the bandage off as the tape pulled at her skin. Finally, she was able to pull the bandage off completely, resulting in her eyes accidentally landing on the large healing scar.

It wasn't a pleasant sight, the mangled cut making Marie's stomach twist and tumble before she shook her head, taking a deep breath as she pulled a gauze pad from the cabinet along with some tap. As quick as she could, Marie replaced the gauze and tape so she wouldn't have to look at the scar.

Finally as Marie covered the cut, she checked her watch again. 5:55pm

"Daniel's probably done with class by now." Marie thought, cleaning up her mess. "Might as well head over."

Marie left the bathroom and walked back into the kitchen, taking the last gulp of her water before putting her shoes on, grabbing her keys and leaving.

"Mr Miyagi!" Marie called, exiting her car as she walked into the yard. She didn't see Daniel's car, so she figured he hadn't gotten back from school yet.

She pushed the gate into the backyard and walked onto the deck, where Mr Miyagi stood putting away his fishing gear. "Marie-san. Just in time."

"Did you go fishing?" Marie asked with a smile, standing on the deck besides him.

"Hai. Catch dinner." Mr Miyagi spoke with a nod.

"Looks good." The sound of a car pulling up alerted Marie that Daniel was probably here, the car shutting off and the door squeaking open only confirming that suspicion.

"Mr. Miyagi, I'm home." Daniel called, walking into the backyard.

"Daniel-san, just in time." Mr Miyagi responded as Daniel walked onto the deck.

"How was fishing?" Daniel asked, wrapping an arm around Marie's shoulder and pressing a kiss to her head.

"We find out pretty soon." Mr Miyagi said, setting the fish on the grill.

"How was your first day of college?" Marie asked, looking up at Daniel. His arm dropped from her shoulders as he rubbed the back of his neck, pacing a bit.

"College? College...College is...Well, you know college. It's a place that I didn't go to today." Marie raised an eyebrow as she crossed her arms, staring at Daniel.

"What?" Mr Miyagi asked, confused as well. Daniel didn't respond, holding out an envelope to Mr Miyagi as he took the fish off the grill.

"Mr. Miyagi, may all your dreams come true." Marie took the plate with the fish as Mr Miyagi took the envelope, walking inside to get a better look.

"What this?" Mr Miyagi asked as Marie set the fish on the table.

"There's only one way to find out." Daniel replied, earning a weary look from Mr Miyagi. "All right, I'll tell you. It's my college diploma."

"What?" Marie and Mr Miyagi asked, looking at Daniel in complete confusion.

"I'm only joking." Daniel responded with a chuckle.

"Daniel-san, you have sense humour." Mr Miyagi finally opened the envelope, pulling out an official looking piece of paper. "Lease?"

"For your new bonsai store. Congratulations." Daniel announced. Marie looked over Mr Miyagi's shoulder at the lease.

"One months security and two months rent." Marie read, looking up at Mr Miyagi.

"Yes. With just enough left over for renovations, if we're careful." Daniel explained with a wide smile.

"Daniel-san, thank you very much, but cannot accept." Mr Miyagi spoke, setting the lease on the table.

"But it's your dream, Mr. Miyagi. Why not?" Daniel asked, sitting down.

"Because money in pocket was not for Miyagi dream. Was for college education." Mr Miyagi reminded Daniel as Marie sat on the wood.

"I know, just listen to me for a minute. I know me. I just can't take courses to take courses." Daniel began. "I'll get bored. Once it happens, forget about it. It's bye-bye college." Daniel mimicked, waving goodbye. "I've been going to school non-stop since I'm five. I could use the break."

"I don't know, Daniel-san." Mr Miyagi replied, unconvinced.

"Just come with me a second." Daniel said, standing from the ground.

"Where?" Mr Miyagi asked as Daniel helped Marie stand.

"Just come with me." Daniel responded.

"What about fish?" Mr Miyagi asked, guesteing to the fish. Marie looked at Mr Miyagi, tilting her head as she raised an eyebrow.

"That fish isn't going anywhere. That fish's dead."
