A knock on Marie's door made her instinctively smooth down her shirt, her nerves spiking as she grabbed her coat. "Deep breaths." She muttered to herself. Maire opened the door with a smile as Daniel stood with his hands in his pockets.
"Hey. You look nice." Daniel complimented, making Marie chuckle.
"Smooth as always, LaRusso." Marie replied, making Daniel smile.
"Before we head out, I need to drop something by the store, alright?" Marie nodded, but noticed how Daniel's gaze shifted to the bandage over her collarbone.
"My eyes are up here, LaRusso." Marie joked, causing Daniel to look down.
"Sorry." He apologized with a chuckle. "How does it look?"
"Not good. At least it doesn't hurt anymore." Marie replied. She absolutely hated the scar over her collarbone, but she wanted to make it seem like she was fine.
"That's good. Ready to go?" Daniel asked.
"Yeah." Marie responded with a wide smile. She stepped out of the doorway and into the hallway, closing the door and locking it behind her. Stuffing her keys into her pockets, she held Daniel's hand, walking with him down to the car.
The pair discussed nothing in particular, Marie commenting on Daniel's shirt while trying to keep a straight face. It was dorky, as usual, but she liked it. "We're here." Daniel announced, making Marie smile a bit. "Let's head in."
Marie opened her door, stepping onto the sidewalk and closing the door behind her. Daniel, holding a few books, walked around the other side. "This'll be quick, I promise." Marie smiled, following Daniel as he walked up into the store.
He unlocked the door and walked inside, holding it open for Marie to walk through before bringing the books over to a table. "Wow. Mr Miyagi's really been working on this place, huh?"
"Yeah," Daniel began. "And I think that we'll be able to make a profit soon. I mean, the three of us working together on bonsai?" Marie frowned, looking down at the ground before back at Daniel.
"Actually, Daniel, that's what I wanted to talk to you about. See..." Footsteps behind Marie made her head turn, spotting two men standing in the doorway snickering.
"What are you doing? We're not open." Daniel asked as Marie took a step to move besides him, watching the two men walk inside.
"The door was." One of the men sneered.
"I meant for business, pal." Daniel corrected as the men walked closer.
"I didn't come here for business. Came here to talk to you. We heard you weren't entering the All Valley this year. Is that true, Daniel?" The man asked. The man behind him, significantly taller, was quiet. Marie looked at Daniel, slightly proud, before back at the man.
"Where'd you hear that?" Daniel asked.
"Is it true?" The man snapped, causing Marie to move into a slightly prepared fighting stance.
"Yeah, that's true. So what?" Daniel asked, beginning to get defensive.
"We'd like you to reconsider." The man replied, making Marie roll her eyes.
"Is that seriously why you came down here?" She asked, glaring at the man. The guy behind him finally pushed him out of the way and faced Daniel.
"I need your title." His tone was already tense, which caused Marie to narrow her eyebrows.
"Then enter the tournament and go for it." Daniel concluded.
"Maybe you didn't hear me. I need your title. You don't enter and that affects my financial future. I won't let that happen. Get it?" The man seemed to be getting angry, which was concerning to Marie.
