Chapter 12 - Enough

Melody POV

It was weird to stand in a room full of crying vampires.

I looked around me.

Edward was holding a sobbing Bella and a heavily crying Nessie, his own eyes wet with the tears I was giving everyone. Alice and Rosalie sought comfort with their mates, too.

But Carlisle was alone, on the floor, crying his heart out. Tears rolling over his pale cheeks. Crying so hard, so long, so much, even the ground was getting wet under his kneeling figure. He was alone, and so was I. So I kneeled next to him and moved his weak body into my arms.

"Leave me alone!" He managed to whine between sobs.

"No." I replied, my voice emotionless. I was going to stay strong, I wasn't about to show him how guilty I felt.

"Leave me ALONE!" He roared, this time knocking me away from him. I looked at him, a hurt expression on my face. "Oh my God.. Melody I'm so sorry." He said, offering me his hand. But I refused. I'd had enough.

I'd had enough fucking drama.

~24 hours earlier~

Christ! There was some MAJOR family drama going on here. Nessie wanted to come too, to save Esme, but of course Edward and Bella wouldn't let their 1-year-old come. Edward wouldn't let her stay with a wolf called Jacob, either, even though he had apparently imprinted on her. I was "WTF-ing", a nice term chosen by Alice, in the corner while half of the family was arguing. After some time Jasper sat down next to me, a defeated look on his face.

"I give up." He sighed.

"On who's side were you, anyway?" I asked. I hadn't even seen him argue.

"I'm not really trying to get either 'side' to win, I'm trying to calm them down. I have a gift to do that. Oh, and Alice can see the future." He added matter of factly. "oh, and Bella is a shield." Holy ****! This family is SO gifted. I shot up.

"Alice!" I roared, trying to overpower all the shouting, growling and hissing.

"Hi Mel!" She chimed, sitting on the other side of me.

"How can you still be so cheerful?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. "Well, anyways, if you can see the future, you can see if we manage to rescue Esme, right?" I asked her. It was too easy, she should've seen in by now if she could, she would've looked for it. But I couldn't help it, I had to ask.

"Well," She let out a frustrated sigh, "I've tried, but everything I try to see is somewhat foggy, unclear." I nodded. She probably couldn't explain, or she would have. I waited for them to break the silence, but when they didn't I decided to update them on the African clan.

"Okkar didn't see it, either." I informed them, waiting for their questions.

"Carlisle explained" Alice sighed. So we continued our uncomfortable silence.

"Alright, Jacob, go ahead!" Edward roared, throwing a table trough the window, probably to prevent himself from hurting his daughter's soon to be lover.

"Edward, you scared the hell out of her!" Rosalie spat at him, picking up Renesmee from the ground and handing her over to Bella.

"Finally..." I mumbled under my breath, they had been fighting for one hour straight and I was getting way past pissed. Edward looked at me apologetically, probably ashamed of the fuss he and Jacob had created. "Now, can we LEAVE?" I asked no one in particular, I wanted to get Esme home, to get Carlisle happy. Edward glanced at me again, this time an understanding look on his face.
