Chapter 8 - That is a harsh way to say goodbye

Melody POV

Everyone's head turned to me in one, smooth movement. Their golden, intense eyes made me cringe. Renesmee poked her small head from behind her mothers crouching figure, staring at me with brown curiosity filled eyes. Edward was still laying on the ground, shocked.

"Alright, ALRIGHT!" I said, frustrated. "You win, Jasperboy." Then it clicked. Jasper. 80 years ago..

"Wait a second.. JASPER YOU FUCKING MORON!" I screamed at him. I made an attempt to lunge at him, but before anyone could say anything, Alice lunged for me, tearing my head of in the process. I screamed and then everything went black.

[Ha. I've got a bad case of writer's block, if u haven't noticed yet -.-]

Carlisle POV

As soon as Alice jumped, Edward and I grabbed her arms. But we were to late: She tore Melody's head off.

"GIVE ME A LUCIFER!" Alice screamed, struggling against our grip. Rosalie's smile was smug as she walked towards Melody's unmoving body with a lucifer.

"No, Rose!" Emmett exclaimed, getting a good grip on his wife's waist.

'Edward!' I shouted in my mind, 'Keep Alice away from her, I'm going to get her head back on.' I ordered him. He nodded and tightened his grip on Alice. I got Melody's body and head, as weird as that may sound, and dashed into the forest. I could only hope this was possible.

Melody POV

I slowly opened my eyes to find Carlisle crouched over me, a faint smile playing on his lips.

"It worked!" He said happily, his smile growing wider. I sat up, examining my body. I was perfectly fine. I smiled, too.

"That's a pretty big scar though.." He said, looking directly at a place on my neck. He placed his gentle fingers on it: It hurt pretty bad. I winched a little. "Sorry" he apologized.

"Thank you, Carlisle, you've saved my life!" I said, swinging my arms around his neck as I buried my face in his shoulder. I inhaled his beautiful scent: He smelled like water lilies on a sunny day in spring. [A/N I have NO idea how that smells, but quite refreshing, no? xD]

"My pleasure." Carlisle said, rubbing a hand over my back. It was only then I smelled another vampire. No, another 2 of them. I gently pulled away from Carlisle to see where we were. At first, I noticed how perfectly round the meadow was and the beautiful flowers surrounding it. But then, I saw an irritated Edward, with arms crossed over his chest as he tapped his arm impatiently. It was so not Edward to be impatient. Next to him stood a terrified pixie: Alice.

"Alice.." I murmured, looking properly at her for the first time. The gold eyes struck me again, and I couldn't help but drown in them, as if searching for something I wouldn't find.

"Yes?" Alice asked me, pulling me out of my trance.

"I'm so sorry, I never meant to insult Jasper or hurt him.." I said, ashamed, "He killed my mate, 80 years ago. That's why I got so angry, Alice, you must understand."

"Oh, Melody you have nothing to be sorry of, I just should've stopped you from attacking him, I shouldn't have killed you. I'm so sorry." Alice ran towards me to envelop me in a hug.

"I seem pretty alive now, though." I chuckled.

"Oh, my, the scar. I'm sure we can find some clothing covering that up, maybe a necklace.. a scarf?" Alice started measuring me and looking at me from all different angles.

"Alice, chill! I have a very interesting gift, remember?" Oh wait, Melody, they don't remember since you've never told them. Smart!? I shook my head. "Sorry, I haven't told you that. I can change the appearance someone goes by." I explained, gesturing to my .. eyes, wait a second! "They're red, aren't they?" I asked Alice uncertainly. She nodded. "Shit." I cursed under my breath.

"Errr... I'll leave you two alone. Come on, Edward.." She tugged Edward, who gave me one last, warning glance, on his arm and they left.

"You did kill her." Carlisle stated, looking at my blood-red eyes. I hadn't even made an attempt to make them blue again. I nodded, defeated.

"You must loath me." I muttered.

"I don't hate you, Melody. I just fear I can not trust you anymore." He answered, never lifting his gaze from my eyes. "You live like the monster we are meant to live like, Melody." He got to his feet. "I will not allow you on our land anymore, you can not hunt here. If you will, you will achieve punishment. Take care, Melody." He said, and made an attempt to run away until I grabbed his arm. A low growl escaped his chest as he pushed me away from him.

"Carlisle, wait!" I shouted, "Please, Carlisle!" I begged him, but he didn't return.

[A/N That was short, but I'm already writing the next chapter, just needed a.. break in the story, of some sorts. Talk to you later, folks *eyebrow wiggle*]
