Chapter 10: Camping

Karas pov

"Hey Lena?" I asked my girlfriend whilst we cuddled on the couch.

"Yes baby?"

I looked away from the tv to look up at her and smiled.
"I've been thinking... would you like to go camping with Ava and I? Because j'onn said I could have the weekend off and Ava wanted to try camping" I explained.

"I mean I've never been camping before so why not" she smiled.

I grinned at her and we continued watching the movie.

"We're going this weekend by the way"

"Ok baby" she laughed.

We loaded our bags into lenas car just as Ava made her way out of the apartment complex.

"Mom? Mommy is mom coming too?" She asked and we both laughed at her exited face.

"Yes sweetie" I answered.

She cheered and climbed into the back of the car whilst lena and I got into the front.

I checked to see if Ava had done her seatbelt and then faced the front as lena started driving.

"Let it goooo let it gooo" Ava sang along to the frozen sound track currently playing.

"I know it's a lot the hair the bod.... when your staring at a demi god" she sang

Lena and I glanced at each other trying not to laugh but we both joined in singing with her when she poked our arms and glared.

Finally we reached the place we would be camping which was the forest.

Lena parked the car on the side of the road and we all got out.

I gave ava her small bag with her things in whilst lena and I carried most of the stuff.

We started our trek through the forest, I glanced at my girlfriend and thought about how weird it looked for her to be in comfortable non business clothing but I couldn't deny she looked beautiful and I hoped to see her like that more.

We approached a clearing where we decided would be good to set up our camp.

Whilst lena and I worked on getting the tent up Ava ran around trying to catch a butterfly she had spotted; she quickly got bored but decided to draw pictures in the ground with a twig.

After we had set the tent up we placed our things inside.

We placed three sleeping bags with mats underneath on the floor, we placed a few fold up chairs inside incase it rained.

I proceeded to hide the bag of food I had brought which had enough for two days but I didn't want Ava to steal any because she's just like me and would most likely eat more than she is supposed to.

The darkness quickly came so we made a small fire with some wood we found around the place.

Once we had finished the set up I shot it with my laser vision causing it to catch light.

I watched as lena grabbed the chairs and we sat around the fire warming up.

"Mommy I packed marshmallows" Ava suddenly said and ran into the tent.

I laughed and also went in to help her find the food after she complained about me hiding it.

We all sat around the fire with a stick in our hands roasting our own marshmallows.

I glanced at ava too see her nearly crying whilst pouting at the burnt marshmallow on her stick.

"Don't cry sweetheart you can have mine and I'll just do another one" said lena when she too saw this.

Avas face immediately brightened and she skipped to lenas side and happily took the marshmallow.

After we had put out the fire we all got into the tent after changing into our pyjamas and snuggled up together.

A/N short and it's awful but I thought it would be a cute little chapter :)
