"Why do you look like an eagle when I look at you? But in the corner of my eye you look like a normal man?" Kate asked Defender.

"I am a being of your imagination. I change as you change. So the reason you see me as an eagle, is because that is your favorite animal, so I appear to you as that. But, the man you see me as out of the corner of your eye is the resemblance of your dad." Defender replied. "It is very hard to explain, but I am trying my best, dear."

"Thats ok. Its just that, the face of my dad looks familiar. It looks like a face I have seen before. Kinda like..." Kate stammered for a minute. She couldn't remember who she saw who looked like the face of Defender.

"Kinda like J.R. Green?"

"YES! Thats who It looks like. But I don't want that jerk to be my dad!" Kate screamed in rage.

"I'm sorry he left you like that Kate, to fend for yourself. But we also want and don't want a many other things in this world."

"Why do I see him and not my mom?"She asked Defender.

"Well, seeing as I'm a man it only makes sense that you would see your dad and not your mom." He replied chuckling.

"Oh." Kate replied, slightly blushing at her embarassing question. It had never occured to her that Defender was a man. "Are there any women dreamcatchers on Defendrall?"

"I'm sad to say that ther is no women here. Such a shame. But King believed that the men dreamcatchers would only care about the women and forget about our assigned families. The race of dreamcatchers would eventually die out because kids would no longer believe in us beause of the women. So sadly, thats why we have no women here."

"Oh, thats too bad. But I do see where King is coming from. But no matter what, I'll still belive in you." Kate said, trying to brighten Defenders bad mood.

"We had better find a place to rest for tonight. The sun is already setting." Defender pointed in the direction of the setting sun behind Kings mansion. They found a nice willow tree and settled beneath the branches. Kate could see the starlight trying to peek between the hanging branches. And she closed her eyes. and for once she had a nightmare free dream.
