I've never felt so stupid in my whole entire life.

How didn't they make the connection before? A girl dying at Hogwarts fifty years ago, Myrtle being the most recent ghost in centuries. All the times they had been in that bathroom brewing the Polyjuice Potion, and the clue was right there. They could've asked Myrtle. Now talking to her was mission impossible with the fact every student was patrolled 24/7. They were always led to their classes as a group by a Professor, and at night the corridors were as well guarded as the cells of Azkaban.

The entire month of May consisted of studying for exams. According to McGonagall, exams were still on because the whole reason they kept the school open was for their education. If her own work load wasn't enough, she was also helping Ron and Harry with their homework. Without Hermione they were practically clueless. Allegra was amazed they were passing at all.

Three days before the first exam Professor McGonagall made an announcement at breakfast.

"I have good news," her Head of House declared.

"Dumbledore is coming back!"

"The Heir of Slytherin has been caught!"

"Quidditch matches are back on!"

"Shut up Oliver!"

"No to all of those guesses! The mandrakes are finally ready for cutting. Tonight we'll be able to revive those who've been petrified. I need hardly remind you all that one of them may be able to tell us who, or what, attacked them."

Cheers erupted throughout the Great Hall. Allegra wasn't surprised to see Draco not joining in.

"Now it won't matter that we couldn't ask Myrtle," said Ron gleefully. "Hermione will probably know who attacked her when she wakes up. Mind you, she'll go crazy when she finds out we've got exams in three day because she hasn't studied. Actually, it might be better to leave her where she is until exams are over."

Allegra threw a muffin at him, making him yelp as he wacked it away. "Honestly woman, if you care about me why do you hurt me so?"

She rolled her eyes just as Ginny came over and sat down besides Ron. The First Year was obviously tense, but was far more nervous than she appeared.

She can't really be this nervous because of what happened between us months ago, can she? Allegra thought.

"What's up?" Ron asked as he helped himself to more food.

Ginny didn't say anything. Instead she glanced around the table. When their eyes locked the red head flinched and was over come with dread and...guilt?

"Spit it out already," said Ron.

"I have to tell you something," mumbled Ginny, keeping her eyes trained on her lap.
